I have been working at Bryn Mawr Trust full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

BMT is a 126 year old g community bank with strong ties to the communities it serves. Employees work hard and can see and feel the impact they have on external and internal customers. There is a large investment in technology and process improvement happening so employees have an opportunity to contribute and learn new things. The pace is fact and employees have a variety of things to work on from business as usual items to project planning and implementation.

    Cons

The pace is fast and requires an ability to change directions quickly and to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. With the current size, some employees are required to have a generalist level knowledge of multiple areas. This is great for those who like the variety of activity.

    Advice to Management

Continue to seek opportunities to grow the product and service offerings BMT has for the customers. Encourage new ways to seek employee ideas for same.

    Pros

Bryn Mawr Trust is a good, solid, well performing independent bank with employees who care about their work and their clients. The employees work as a team to get the job done. The benefits offered are good including a great 401(k) plan that provides a company match and profit share contribution.

    Cons

Due to the fast growth of the Bank over the last few years there have been a lot of technology and systems changes requiring employees to learning new systems and processes. Although learning is a great it can also be overwhelming at times.

I have been working at Bryn Mawr Trust (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I left a larger organization to come and work for BMT. I've lived in the Philadelphia area my whole life and was familiar with the BMT name even though i'd never banked with them. I am amazed at how many people I know who bank with BMT and have great things to say about the bank. The employees are friendly and really care about the customers. I enjoy my co-workers and think they are a good group of people to spend my time with.

BMT is super invested in the communities we live in and in the customers we serve. We really value long relationships. Working here I get a lot of opportunities to learn new things and touch many aspects of the products and services we offer. Since we have a bank and a big Wealth division, I've gotten to learn a lot of new things and see some other career avenues that could be possible for me.

It was also a great work life change for me. Since BMT is a local company, it means I no longer have to travel for work and juggle all that comes with that. Overall, I am really glad I made the change and joined BMT.

    Cons

The company is smaller than what I've worked in before so sometimes there aren't as many resources available as I am used to. it does force me to think more creatively about problems and solutions but it is different from my past experiences.

    Advice to Management

Keep investing in the systems and tools. I'd also like to see a more formal employee development program.
