I have been working at Buck Consultants full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I enjoy the entrepreneurial spirit of this organization and the lack of bureaucracy. The emphasis is on clients and providing excellent client service. Great collegial environment supports bringing the best ideas and people to solve client problems. Very flexible about working arrangements.

    Cons

Sometimes the lack of structure can be frustrating although most of the time I consider it a positive.

    Advice to Management

Maintain the focus on clients even while reorganizing internally.

    Pros

There were none. Buck was a terrible place to work. The constant changes in leadership, the failure to increase pay and provide bonuses and the difficulty in getting promoted were but some of the reasons I found Buck to be a horrible work experience.

    Cons

Everything. Really did not enjoy that job. I particularly did not like how hard it was for junior/mid-level folks to get to know a range of senior folks. It was also very difficult to move within the company.

    Advice to Management

It'd be nice if you actually cared about your employees professional development. Yes, there's a job to do, but many employees actually would like to learn skills that are transferable and/or will increase the odds of promotion.

  3. "In need of proper training"
