Nice money but rude managers

Pros

-good pay when you are busy -tasty food (work discount, but still pricey)

Cons

-managenent including CEO look down on their service team, no respect -too many games and playing favorites. Trust the people you hire and you'll see happier servers and bartenders who do great work -the CEO rules with an attitude. She makes it tough to want to come to work.

Pros

The concept is amazing. It’s always busy and you’ll make decent money. High quality food, high quality hourly staff. The uniform is easy enough. Some of the Managers are amazing!

Cons

I worked at this company for a couple years, and it was one of the most difficult and exhausting work environments I’ve ever experienced. Maintaining any sort of healthy work-life balance was nearly impossible. Time off was extremely hard to get approved, and taking even a single day felt discouraged or punished. Senior leadership created a stressful and, at times, uncomfortable atmosphere, even for the Managers. It was not uncommon for leadership to make inappropriate comments about employees’ appearances and to speak to both hourly and salaried staff in ways that felt unprofessional and disrespectful. The tone set by the senior leadership made the overall culture tense, unpredictable, and emotionally draining. I actually felt bad for the Managers which is an unusual balance, ha. I have personally heard the owner of the company, Emily talk so badly about the Managers and hostesses I was in shock. They stomp into the restaurant, sit in a section, complain about everything while talking so poorly of the team within earshot where we can hear them. No wonder we have a new manager every month in the building, they can’t keep managers. There were talented people working alongside me, and the fast pace did provide learning opportunities. However, the environment was so demanding and unforgiving that it outweighed any benefits. I would not recommend this workplace to anyone who values boundaries, respect, or a life outside of their job.
