I have been working at Bucknell University full-time

    Pros

Bucknell is a great place to go to university -- perfect size, beautiful campus, amazing professors!

    Cons

The student body can get a little homogenous at times, as many students come from the same three Northeastern states.

    Advice to Management

Continue to keep diversifying Bucknell's student body -- I think we're headed in a good direction, but we should absolutely continue to make strides!

I worked at Bucknell University part-time

    Pros

Free snacks, good pay, make your own hours

    Cons

having student calling with schoolwork was a lot to handle, and you did have to work at least two nights a week which becomes a lot.

I have been working at Bucknell University part-time

    Pros

The Teaching & Learning Center is an excellent initiative for helping students help other students succeed. As a Tutor and Facilitator, I have learned many study strategies that have helped me in my own courses.

    Cons

There aren't many downsides—but conceivable ones could be that Bucknell's isolated campus leads logically to an isolated feeling later in the semester. Therefore, that aspect can make it difficult to concentrate while being stuck in the "Bucknell bubble."

    Advice to Management

It would be helpful to understand with some transparency the decisions that go on in the administration. Keeping students and faculty in the dark about the trajectory of the institution does not make for a very approachable administration.

I worked at Bucknell University part-time

    Pros

Great place to work with great people. Beautiful campus and some of the kindest bosses I've ever had. Always something to enjoy on the campus

    Cons

Pretty secluded from major cities so it might get a bit too quiet. Student life and activities geared only towards students are the main focuses on campus, hence a bit hard to find entertainment outside of the college activities. But they are diverse activities and several cultural events so it's not that much of a hardship

    Advice to Management

Have more information out so employees looking for positions might have a better idea of when and how to apply. Encourage more staff and student interactions.
