I have been working at Buddy's Home Furnishings full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Staying busy is no problem as rent to own goes at a pretty fast pace.

    Cons

Upper management talks a great game of wanting to be a bigger, more competitive rent to own company but they still carry themselves as a very small company. The store managers and district managers I have met all have VERY SERIOUS INTEGRITY ISSUES. They openly steal and misapropiate cash and inventory. They instruct their assistant managers to type up and activate agreements...

    Advice to Management

Sell the company to a group of investors that would bring in a new management team. Maybe sell to a competitor?

I worked at Buddy's Home Furnishings full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good Pay, Fun atmosphere at the store level. Good experience to take to the next job

    Cons

I worked for a franchise (BNW) upper management very abusive. They set goals too high to achieve and then yell at you when you don't hit them (nobody hits them) They like an environment where everybody tattles on everybody, and everybody wants to get promoted at the expense of their buddies.

    Advice to Management

They wont listen because they think they know everything. But there are much better motivators than fear. Build your people up and empower them with positive motivation and watch them perform. Then fire the ones that don't get it, don't make their life miserable so they will quit, and you wont have to pay umemployment. That is almost inhumane......
