I have been working at Buffalo Rock full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

It's a tuff job (retail sales)that not everyone can do. But if you are willing to show up every day and do a good job you can go a long way in this company. The management team and everyone here are great to work with. And the pay is better than these reviews say. The average route is over 40k and the drivers are closer to 50k

    Cons

Hard work and 10 to 14 hours a day. Depending on what you do. I'm referring to retail sales.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work.

I have been working at Buffalo Rock full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Off weekends, paid birthday off

    Cons

Long hours, the more you work the less you make with this pay system they have set up

    Advice to Management

Pay people for the work they are doing. The big routes make the same as the little ones so it's fair to the people with smaller routes. If the smaller routes want more money then work your way up to it. Not everyone gets a trophy.(except at this company) Can't keep people around with this and it's very apparent with the turn around rate here.. became senior driver within 1 year...that's bad.

I have been working at Buffalo Rock full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    A lot of overtime.
    Days go by fast.

    Cons

The pay is minuscule considering the amount of work you do.
    Management needs improvement.
They pretty much throw you out there.
Training is not thorough, you will learn a lot of things on your own.
    High turnover

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees more. Its pretty discouraging knowing you are working for pennies especially when you work with other vendors throughout the day and find out how much they make.

I have been working at Buffalo Rock full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Buffalo Rock is a great family owned company to work for. No micro management, they let you just get the job done.

    Cons

While long hours to equal larger paychecks, it can become tiresome at times. Family time is important.

    Advice to Management

Plan well and don't leave things out there for just assumptions. Have a goal and plan to get there.

I worked at Buffalo Rock full-time

    Pros

The benefits, such as vacation time, personal days, health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance were all great and reasonably priced and provided after a probationary period

    Cons

The management showed a lack of motivation in helping you complete your daily responsibilities. There was a lack of team work involved, and a lack of accountability to those who chose not to do their jobs

    Advice to Management

Keep up with your employees, and make sure they are taken care of. The lack of care, training, and advice were a downfall to everyday work. Hold those accountable that need to be, and provide positive feedback to those that do their job above and beyond

I worked at Buffalo Rock full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Get experience driving truck. Learn about merchandising.

    Cons

Long hours, horrible pay for the amount of work, your pay based on your salesman, customers are rude even though they ordered it, you dont get paid even if you u load it if customer refuses or cant pay. If warehouse loads wrong its driver faults and you have to clean up there mess, if somethings missing they load its driver fault, company owner joked about having to retire on social security in meeting how unapproiate and rude. You have to be at work certain time even if customer not open yet.

    Advice to Management

Quit buddy system and take up for employees and be more proactive in field.

    -Decent pay

    Cons

-Such long hours that it makes the job not worth the pay
-you go to work before the sun comes up and you get home after the sun has gone down
-your wife will be mad that you missed dinner again
-sometimes you will have to wait hours for the employee working at your account to scan you in before you can merchandise
    -you have to merchandise
-the managers at the gas stations you will deliver to will treat you like a dog, and you have to take it
-they can't retain employees, so if someone quits, you will have to pick up the slack, which becomes too much work, which is why your wife is mad at you because you missed dinner again
-they only have a minimum number of drivers, so if one is out sick, you have to pick up the slack, which becomes too much work, which is why your wife is mad at you because you missed dinner again
