I have been working at Bulkmatic full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They take good care of the older guys here if your over 50 this is where you should be. And yea 50k-60k a year but also keep in mind you well not make this if you are not running your your butt off weekends. Out of towns. Late nights, holidays. And so on

    Cons

Favoritism, forced dispatched runs, out dated equipment, turnover rate is real bad, if you have a family stay a way from here home time you will never get it 10 hrs at home & right back out and there losing more customers now more then ever so bottom line the ball is in your court do as you plz But I have fare warning

    Pros

It pays the bills. It's a job. A few friendly people.

    Cons

Too many hours! No chain of command. Horrible communication. Favoritism is worse than I have ever seen. Extremely cut throat company.

    Advice to Management

Go back to being a company that actually cares about its employees. Bring back Butch.

    Pros

They employ people at their company.

    Cons

Don't take care of good employees. Have enormous turnover. HR does nothing. Union was started because they dislike a manager so much in IL. But manager has personal relationship with HR so nothing good will come of that. They only want puppets.

    Advice to Management

Where to even begin? How about: Get quality management.

I worked at Bulkmatic full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It's a job. It's employment. Struggling to find enough words for the 20 minimum required to leave a review.

    Cons

Horrible management, treat their employees like total crap. No respect, favoritism & overall extremely shady. They will screw you over in a heartbeat!!!

I worked at Bulkmatic (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good bunch of coworkers that really want to succeed and be the best, not really many other good things to say really

    Cons

Terminal mgmt micro manages and really treats you as a toddler when you demand to be treated as an adult, equipment is old and worn out, loading your trailer takes a while and if it is to hot or cold transloaders will disappear. dispatch is the biggest Achilles in the company, they have far to much leverage against the driver. The entire system needs an overhaul, the training in Indiana is held at a facility then your hotel is in one of the worst areas where you are restricted to your hotel for the week, Just not a very good place to earn a buck

    Advice to Management

MGMT needs to be retrained or dismissed and needs to really learn people skills and leadership skills

Former Employee - Warehouse in Chicago Heights, IL

I worked at Bulkmatic full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits; some growth potential; opportunity to self-direct to some degree

    Cons

    Limited training; poor HR resolutions

    Advice to Management

Provide a strong timeline of training for new employees, followed by a review; provide a strong and specific training program for transitions within the company (does not need to be long or extensive, but focused). For those who have been self-motivated, have a strong work ethic and been loyal to the company, take a closer look at any person lodging a complaint, if you want to keep the honest, ethical employee.
