Pros
The woman they contracted to sign up our health benefits was very nice and helpful. I can not think of one other good experience since they merged with the company I worked for.
Cons
Bureau Veritas acquired a small family owned oil analysis company I worked for, for a year. Bureau Veritas assured us everything would 'stay the same' and perhaps the benefits would get better. They lied. Insurance costs were doubled and they eliminated my position without notice, rendering me unemployed. The work I did would be sent to the other locations and picked up by already overworked staff at the other locations. Meetings about the acquisition were held over speaker phone with over 100 employees of four cities gathered in respective conference rooms. Nobody could understand over the speaker phone the adjustments they were explaining to us. These adjustments impacted many of us like pay periods changing and new insurance costs just to name a few. We were more confused after the meeting then before. Their management told us they would give out their emails to us if we had any concerns, but they never did. Before this happened I applied within the company for a position I was well qualified for and wasn't notified whether they received the application or contacted in any way. The salaries we were being paid before the acquisition were near the lowest if not the absolute lowest in industry. We thought being the big corporation that Bureau Veritas is perhaps they would bring salaries up to Los Angeles market for an oil analysis laboratory, but they didn't. The overly priced health insurance costs became 20% of a newly hired lab techs net pay. Overall I find it rather disgusting that they get away with it. I really wish Glass door didn't make me pick a star. Id pick a pile of poo for this company.

Cons

Pros
Reimbursement for travel expenses and cost of living when on assignment. Working for clients directly and encompassing mitigations for construction delays using risk analysis and metrics data for the clients in daily or weekly and certainly final reports. This is a great company to work for if you are looking to network, and advance your career into the NASDAQ employer realm. Advancement and pay raises are virtually based on what someone at a VP level thinks of you as a person. They also employ 1099's however and this is a great way for many to make a comfortable living. The overhead is paid for by billable hours worked and thus they keep employees busy, just rarely informed.
Cons
A lack of professional advancement, leadership, and employees conducting reviews of themselves and on a self-performing basis. Those capable of forming relationships within the company can expect to advance not on their abilities or compassion for team members and collaboration but rather on what the senior management thinks of the person's character. The company is a vacuum when it comes to practicing what is preached. BVPI family is a buzzword, and many employees were incapable of the assignments given. The meetings are boring and typically involve complaints within the company about the clients and the lack of general support. The culture and values of the company are merely on paper and not practiced.

Dec 18, 2020 - Health and Safety Manager in Birmingham, EnglandRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Lots of opportunity to work alone, with out management interference. flexible working.
Cons
Can be a little isolating at times. Frustrating long time to sort things such as expenses. Salary is below industry standard so push for a high salary when you start as pay rises are limited. Not a forever job

Good health insurance. Flexible hours for appointments.
Cons
Same as most other large companies. Poor pay for the lab staff who all bust their butts on a daily basis.

Pros
A variety of work locations on a very interesting project. I guess I got a free computer that they didn't want back.
Cons
Hired on for one location/purpose but sent to 4 locations and multiple purposes. Project Manager lied to get me to hire on. Took 4 months to correct my hiring status. When told to perform work I was unfamiliar with, they did not allow me to get direction from remote experienced co-workers (in-person) - only gave me a template to follow (which I did). Shortly after mentioning that I was pregnant, I was taken off project that they couldn't keep people on, saying that they had no work for me and that I was inexperienced (I have 20 years experience and teach at 3 local colleges (multiple representatives from the customer were appalled and said they loved how I worked, as I actually answered their calls and answered their questions)). They ghosted me after numerous attempts to get any answers from HR as to what was going on. Vice President did not follow through on allowing me to use my remaining accumulated holiday and vacation pay.

Good Variety of Projects but hourly pay instead of salaried employee is the biggest con
Feb 6, 2023 - Quality Inspector in New York, NYRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Was able to work on big projects like the New LGA Airport etc. - Get 1.5x the hourly pay for overtime
Cons
- Pay is determined hourly which means you are not a salaried employee and your pay is dependent on the work you get. - Hectic and fast paced industry therefore can be very draining

Terrible Company w/ NO Vision
May 19, 2022 - Assistant Project Manager in Mississauga, ONRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Good, kind and hard working people whom are mostly comprised of immigrants trying to get a foothold in their new country.
Cons
Where to start? - exploitation - low pay with no raises / low raises (we’re talking cents here year to year) - toxic and opaque upper management - little room for growth (favouritism and hand holding to select people) - preach “diversity” but only diverse at the bottom of the company - false promises

Good staff, terrible management.
Oct 5, 2019 - Consultant in Manchester, EnglandRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Big organision - varied work / interesting customers. Culture of support amongst staff to cope with bullying senior mangers, poor HR, inefficient administration systems and other frustrations.
Cons
Senior managers have a small ambition, short term vision. Prefer £10 this month to £50 next month. Pointless and self defeating pennypinching - 'if its cheap then its Bureau Veritas'. Compnay uses unpaid staff time to make up for poor and inefficient systems. Consultants expected to do sales, client management, staff management, administration and quality management alongside unrealistic utilisation targets. Most staff feel compelled to do unpaid additional hours just to keep up. Staff going on maternity leave are not replaced - their work is just loaded onto the rest of the team and targets for income remain unchanged. Senior managers run things with a bullying blame culture. You can do 10 things right and get zero aknowledegment - managers focused only on the one target not met. Pay system has zero transparency and promotion is purely budget based with no regard to effort or the fact it is deserved. Last two years in my office has seen a significant increase in staff leaving at all levels - poor management culture, terrible work life balance and uncompetative pay the main reasons.
