    Pros

Burkhart offers generous vacation time, a comprehensive benefits package, a comfortable office environment, truly accessible management, opportunities for growth are possible.

    Cons

Heavy workloads that can be hard to achieve successful results. Somewhat frequent turnover, heavily staffed in some areas, understaffed in others.

    Advice to Management

More staffing in key departments would create more client and associate satisfaction.

    Pros

I worked in the Corporate office in Tacoma and the environment was great! Everyone was friendly, kind and helpful. What I really enjoyed was that the President of the company would walk around almost everyday and greet everyone by name and stopped to talk to the employees.

    Cons

Cons? I can't think of any.

I worked at Burkhart Dental full-time

    Pros

Great president. It used to be a very good place to work because it has good values, culture and working environment.

    Cons

The company is still trying to preserve and promote the great values and culture, but some new managers just joined the company are doing the opposite.

    Advice to Management

Be careful about the business directions and keep an eye on those new leaders, they can make or break the company....

    Pros

Great culture, fair compensation, good benefits, very transparent

    Cons

Personal growth is encouraged and there are opportunities to learn more but there are not many clear career paths within the company.

    Advice to Management

Keep recruiting great talent by using competitive benefits and encouraging work/life balance. A lot of employers are moving towards more time off, better maternity and paternity leave, etc. and that is very attractive to prospective employees.

    Pros

It seemed to have a great culture to it and some parts of it do but it really depends on your branch. If you are in the wrong one, you can quickly find yourself in the middle of childish games you thought people outgrew in grade school.

    Cons

Unfeeling management is the biggest con. There is a lot of smiles but then you could easily end up with a proverbial knife in your back. Certain individuals make it no secret that if they make any business for the company, they are allowed to run over whomever they like. Instead of being team players, they are typically always out for themselves. Depending on your branch as well, these same individuals may not have any use for you if you are "young" by their definition and therefore will cast you aside without so much as a word until you are told you are being let go. It is unbelievable how this type of discrimination is allowed to perpetuate. Be extremely careful when you hear individuals talk about "values" because they very relative to how advantageous they appear something to be. These will be abandoned at first opportunity of convenience and you may likely find yourself flat on the ground with boot marks of most senior management on your back.

    Advice to Management

The company appears to be stuck in a high school mentality. Instead of discussing issues like adults or giving suggestions it is simply easier to gossip and play passive-aggressive games all while pretending like everything is just fine. I know the company is better than this but it appears it does not want to be. Truth to tell, I would not want my worst enemy to have to put up with the games you play with people and their families. With all of your talk about your values, I would have thought you would have more integrity but I suppose not. I wish your clients to see how committed you are. Even if it means trashing an employee's life in the process, no sacrifice is too great while chasing that extra dollar. After all, why should you care about your employees? If you truly care about your people then please lose the attitude that you are somehow a feudal lord and that everyone who works for you is a peasant who is lucky you tolerate them.
