    Former Employee - Store Manager

I worked at Burlington Stores full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Comparable pay. Promised upper mobility.
Work life balance. Work hours was much better than previous companies.
Work schedule is 44 hours a week.
    Benefits in line with competition.

    Cons

Floor move changes was constant with
very little payroll support. Corporate and senior management are not in line with directions. Lack of senior management support during corporate visits. Several store managers leaving and working for competition. Common concerns are favoritism and inconsistencies in directions between senior field management and corporate. Very disappointing experience.

    Advice to Management

Floor move changes should be reviewed prior to releasing to field. Senior field management should not be allowed to issue unnecessary floor moves. Eliminate favoritism.

I have been working at Burlington Stores part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    •Pay is Biweekly

    •Store Manager was nice

•10% Discount and sometimes 25% Discount

    •Good prices on merchandise

    Cons

•Tiny, cold, and often messy break room

•Store uses an outdated system that can make working or shopping there difficult.

•Managers and Coworkers treat both costumers and new employees poorly.

•Toxic work environment where everyone has a every man for them self mentality. Teamwork is NOT encouraged.

•Lack of staff because new employees quit within 1-2 days because of poor treatment and being overworked.

•There is a lot of bullying in the workplace

    Advice to Management

You wouldn't have problems keeping enough staff if you didn't keep such shady and disrespectful employees and managers around.

And push to encourage more teamwork between employees and an overall healthier work environment.

Get rid of the bad eggs and update your system and this store would be a great place to work.
