I worked at Bury full-time for more than 4 years

      Pros

I loved my team members and the effort we put in to our projects. I was also here during an exciting time for the company (rebranding, geographic expansion and acquisitions) so that was fun. Working in the Austin office downtown was enjoyable - close to restaurants, coffee, entertainment after work, etc. Bury also has a social committee that plans monthly events, and those were great too.

      Cons

The only benefit that really stands out is the high-deductible health plan and HSA. Bury has historically paid the premium for the plan, which means that nothing came out of my paycheck for healthcare. And each pay period, money was put in to a savings account to use on healthcare costs. Beyond that, the PTO is just "okay." When I was here, they switched from 15 days (10 vacation, 5 sick) to 13 days PTO (use however...

      Advice to Management

Listen to your folks, and really take to heart what is said in the end-of-year reviews. Employees want to see leadership, face-to-face. I know that many would say there's an open-door policy, but management seems absent a lot of the time. Also, please reward people when it's earned or warranted - don't wait until end of year reviews to give people bonuses/raises/promotions. Validate your people more often, and people...

I worked at Bury full-time for more than 4 years

      Pros

Decent health benefits, nice social hours, downtown location

      Cons

Lack of leadership, difficult to advance, poor work/life balance

      Advice to Management

Give more praise for doing a job well done. Distribute work as evenly as possible to allow for people to not be required to work 50+ hours a week.

I have been working at Bury full-time for more than a year

      Pros

I've been at Bury for less than a year and the family dynamic, especially for someone as new as I am, is very real and welcoming. Coming from a huge and disconnected corporation, the people at Bury are a stress reliever and the amount of trust and respect I'm given by everyone is refreshing. The work is fast paced, which is a good sign in my eyes, and everyone is willing to help, which makes each of our jobs easier and...

      Cons

The location is both a pro and a con. We are in the middle of all of the other businesses that we work with around town which is good for building professional relationships, but the traffic getting out at the end of the day is less than stellar.

      Advice to Management

The management are very personable and down to earth, all while being professional and productive. I'm proud to work for such successful people and for a company that is excelling. I have a lot to learn from them, and their willingness to pave the way for myself all of the employees is inspiring.

      Pros

Lots of Opportunity, Nice location, Good Pay, The management has a handle on the business but the business is very fast paced... it is the nature of being a consultant.

      Cons

I worked at Bury full-time for more than 4 years

      Pros

Some good folks work there, they provide free soda and coffee. There is a monthly happy hour or group event, a summer picnic and annual Christmas party. That's the best I could come up with.

      Cons

consistent turnover, sub-par benefits, poor management, loud and distracting open office environment, little to no emphasis given to the majority of employees regarding a sense of value or appreciation of work, limited advancement opportunities.

      Advice to Management

I wouldn't offer any advice to management because I don't believe most are capable of considering what role they play in employee dissatisfaction, nor do I believe that they care.
