I worked at Butler America full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

This is a good place to start your career or to end it.

    Cons

This is not a place that will help you grow in your chosen field, they are a source of cheap labor for their customers.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees better and maybe there would be a lower turnover rate.

I worked at Butler America (More than a year)

    Pros

All basic temp agency functions were provided efficiently and professionally. Generally received very prompt responses to any issues I raised. Also, there were a couple of times when the client's PO was held up in the approval cycle. Butler kept my paycheck coming during these periods.

    Cons

Expense reports and some aspects of time keeping were not well interfaced with the client's systems. Result was duplication of effort for me to enter information into two systems. Also, since i did not have visibility to my POs, I would have to get help on how to file expenses correctly with each report.

    Advice to Management

    Eliminate duplicate tasks.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Butler America as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Great to put on your resume. Working here also gets you experience with engineering management programs like LCA, Matrix, etc. You also get paid every week instead of every two weeks.

    Cons

Not much room for career growth. People seem to be stuck here once they start working full time. It may also be because I don't have a full-time position but it seems like people here do the same work every day.

I worked at Butler America full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company offers a very flexible schedule to both full time employees and interns. Office environment is fun and friendly.

    Cons

Being a smaller company and a contractor, the benefits and pay are not the best. Being located in West Lafayette, you get the excuse "low cost of living" which translates to a smaller paycheck than you otherwise deserve. Experienced engineers do not feel valued and feel like they are replaceable.

    Advice to Management

With a large number of employees <2 years experience, some people treat work like a classroom and talk/watch videos on their phone/games on their phones. Need to hire people who will focus and stay on task. Also need to make employees feel valuable and needed or else they will find better opportunities.

I have been working at Butler America as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's a pretty simple job to get started while completing school, there is very little formal training. Butler offers flexible hours to their interns and almost always makes an offer upon graduation.

    Cons

There isn't much opportunity to "advance" at this company. The pay and benefits are fair but not very competitive.

    Pros

Good and friendly. Small company. You will get your recognition soon when you do a good job. My manager was good and used to recognize my hard work.

    Cons

Higher management was not really good. They could not hold on to customers nor used to get new customers. Not a good company for long term.

    Advice to Management

Has to develop customers. Recruit good staff. But I enjoyed working with my team. I would have still with them if they would not bankrupt.

    Pros

They seem to be respected at some organizations within the Aerospace and Defense community. They represent the employee well when trying to obtain a higher salary.

    Cons

They have had financial diffulculties in the past, and now are understaffed. Timely communication about corporate misdealing was not very timely.

    Advice to Management

Please hire a CEO that doesn't rob the company! The strategy of differentiating themselves within the contracting communicating needs to have substanse by either providing outstanding employees or some other value proposition.
