Pay and benefits. Design your own route and schedule. Monday through Friday. Weekends off or administrative work from home. Distribution center was close.
New managers were managers not leaders. No vehicle allowance. Corporate would determine what vendors to work with. You build your own book of business. What works in California does not work in Iowa.
Good people, family feel and stable in an unstable economy
Time Clock!!! You have to actually LOG IN from your computer in the morning. If it's past 8:05 am, you get a red box on your time sheet and then warnings ensue.
Good ole' boys club
I worked at Butler Schein Animal Health full-time (More than 5 years)
They hired on great people that were great to work with and the company continuously grows. They provide a great severance package for those that have been employed for a few years.
There was no room for growth and very rare pay increases.
Advice to Management
Create a mentoring program Hire managers that encourage employee growth within the company and not see employees as a number or someone that can only benefit themselves. Provide opportunities to advance within the company.
