Pros
Butler/Till is full of kind, supportive, and intelligent employees who make such a difference. Benefits are fantastic.
Cons
Working with pharma clients the creative can be pretty challenging.

Pros
You are encouraged to step out of your comfort zones and question everything. The culture at Butler/Till is one of a kind. No matter your level at the company, everyone is warm and welcoming! You can easily step into the top leadership offices to chat and they are always more than happy to talk to you about anything. Butler/Till is always striving to be better. There are classes you can take on site (business related and fun classes like free workouts and book clubs) as well as innovation imperatives to help grow the company. There are dogs on Fridays. Enough said.
Cons
Butler/Till focuses a lot on the long-term benefits of working for the company. This is great for employees that are older but can sometimes keep younger employees from staying. There are a lot of benefits that you won't ever get the opportunity to take advantage of for another 20+ years which makes it difficult if you're unhappy with your current pay.

Butler/Till is one big family (oh yeah, and a business)!
May 29, 2015 - Account Executive in Rochester, NYRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Butler/Till certainly has a unique culture. As an employee owned company, it's not a stretch to say that while we operate like a business, we act like a family. Everyone works to pull their weight and when help is needed, all you have to do is ask to get no less than a dozen volunteers...every time. And it's not just Joe sitting next to you - senior management would never ask you to do something that they wouldn't do themselves. Coming to work everyday is a joy, not a chore. We work hard but we play hard too. I feel so blessed to have ended up at a company where I am not just a number. In fact, I'm an employee owner.
Cons
As with any job/company, there are ebbs and flows in the workload. Some days are lighter than others. The only con I can think of is that when we have a heavy workload, it can sometimes mean late nights. I'd challenge anyone who says that they've worked at an agency where that doesn't happen though. It's part of the job and we expect it. Management is always checking on bandwidth though and making sure no one is overtaxed.

Great internship experience
Apr 24, 2016 - Media Intern in Rochester, NYRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Internship program was different than most. Not only did we get to handle a project for one of their oldest clients, we got to learn from other Butler/Till employees as a part of their training program. The culture at B/T is awesome. Most importantly everyone here is approachable, friendly and super fun. We had a lot of leeway on our client pitch, allowing us to freely express our ideas and strategies.
Cons
Wished I could've worked more than 15 hours a week. Daily schedules were often in flux, but that is expected in agency environment.

Strong education & training. Great culture. Positive outlook for business.
May 22, 2015 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Butler/Till is a great place to work. The agency strongly believes in education. There is a program in place - Butler/Till University, which offers over 100 classes to employees ranging between topics like leadership skills, presentation tips, digital media 101, and Google Analytics 202. In addition to education, the agency places a lot of emphasis on transparency. Being an employee-owner, we are able to understand anything going on within the company from a financial perspective, a culture perspective, a hiring perspective, etc. The CEO takes a few, random employees each week out to coffee and opens the floor up for questions. It's a great opportunity to better understand what the senior leadership team is up to, why they make certain decisions, and their outlook for the future. Lastly, I have a very positive outlook for the company because of the progressive thinkers within these walls. The media teams stay ahead of trends, and mirror almost any service offered by the much larger NYC/LA/Chicago agencies. Our senior leadership team believes in investing in smarter technology, allowing for the best-in-class resources whether it be media planning/buying software or research tools.
Cons
I don't feel as though there are any cons working at Butler/Till. The benefits are competitive of any company offering in the area, we receive the opportunity to buy an extra week of vacation, we can take our dogs to work on Fridays - this really is a great place to work.
