I have been working at BuyerZone.com full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

People, product and leadership is top notch! Customers really love our service and can prove ROI.

    Cons

Physical work place is so so, but we're moving to brand new facility in October :-)

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing! Great passion, enthusiasm and a true desire to help employees and customers. There is a genuine customer first attitude here, which I love. Highly ethical leadership team who isn't afraid o roll up their sleeves and jump in when needed. No arm chair quarterback people here.

    I worked at BuyerZone.com full-time

    Pros

Fun atmosphere and for the most part everyone genuinely cares about their work and peers they work with. A complex business, but a lot of learning opportunity to grow your career.

    Cons

Certain departments can be cliquey/silloed and only tend to focus their piece of the puzzle without impact to other departments.

    Advice to Management

Continue to meet regularly with your teams and take feedback to heart, and continue to give a voice. Management really cares about the growth of the company and their employees, which is a great thing ;-), though can also get stuck with "how things were always done in the past"

    Pros

Good value proposition to both the buyer and seller 'compare multiple quotes and save'

    Cons

Not always true to the value proposition, margin and revenue are paramount. Channel mix changes like the weather and affilaite relationships have severly impacted lead quality. They sell the leads to too many sellers & affiliates so buyers are overwhelmed with the response and sellers fail because they can't contact the buyer. Affiliates sell BZ underperforming sub par leads. It's a viscious and continious cycle that took me years to see.

They've burned through many top national brand client relationships over the years making growing and maintaing the existing book of business mission impossible. Plus as a rep you have to sell against the affilates that sell BZ's leads for less than you can.

When you have net new biz dev success from your efforts it will be because BZ built it, not a result of your tenacious sales skills. Mgmt wrote of my success as blue birds when only one new national signing out of eleven was a trade show blue bird

    Advice to Management

Be consistent with sales compensation and employees telecommuting schedules

don't discuss other employees performance (real or perceived) to other employees during the weekly one on one meetings

Great at sales operations, lousy at biz dev and strategic account planning and penetration

    Pros

Great people, Fun culture and nice product offering. Management is reasonable and a job well done is recognized. Since the acquisition from Purch things are even better.

    Cons

Health benefits aren't the greatest but that seems to be the case at most companies.

    Pros

Fun culture. Good solid management. Very profitable and growing.

    Cons

It's in Waltham and I would prefer a more urban setting to work...but to each his own.

    Pros

Great staff (made quite a few friends along the way), good work-life balance, fun start-up feel, and positive energy. Overall a nice experience. Company outings were always a blast.

    Cons

Could have a higher compensation, but otherwise I dont have any complaints.

    Advice to Management

I dont have any advice at this time.

    I have been working at BuyerZone.com full-time

    Pros

The working environment and people here are both terrific. Everyone is friendly, helpful and working towards the same goal. Fun place to be, and management looks to reward and recognize talent.
People are happy. You are given a good deal of responsibility, there is enough structure in place and management wants to invest in you and your talent. There are plenty of opportunities to learn.
What BuyerZone is doing serves a specific need in the B2B space, and they're good at it, so they will continue to be around.

    Cons

There isn't a lot of upward mobility. Promotions are few and far between, so if you're looking to climb ladders or for a fancy title, look elsewhere.
Technology-wise, they could be more forward thinking.
HR and IT are offsite, which can complicate things at times.

    Advice to Management

You guys are doing a pretty great job. The only true threat I see is how the parent company chooses to manage BZ in the future. It is somewhat unknown...
