I have been working at Byton full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great Product, Some really Good Engineers, Directors(BIW, Chassis, Thermal, UI/UX Design).

    Cons

    * I am forced to give 1 star Starts with worst Management CEO, CTO, VPs. Welcome to the culture of backstabbing and climbing up. Politics, politics and politics that if you write a book it will beat GoT. Program is way behind, i doubt if we make SOP by end of next year. Zero transparency from upper management. All Hands meeting is all Lies. Former CEO was pushed out and was victim of office politics. He was... BMW veteran, Engineer and just right fit for CEO who cared for his employees and company. He was very transparent, unfortunately management now lies/ hides to their employees on their face. BYTON upper management is full of talkers and all the doers has left the company from January of 2019. Even HR is corrupted, go with any issues to HR and they make sure your VP knows about it and everyone. HR should keep secrets and find way to help employees and that's why there is HRBP. Even the HR leader doesn't trust the company and he didn't update his linkedIn.

    Advice to Management

Stop Burning Money on your unwanted trips, take care of your employees so they don't write on the glassdoor. Don't hire when there is no Money, pay your vendors, don't false promise H1Bs that you would file their GC application. Get rid of all US VPs and start over again(well not that many left), update your website with who is left in the company. Learn from all the recent exist , hold the VPs accountable on why... their employees are leaving. Engineers are the real source for any programs success and its team work where VPs are kind of Program Managers, wake up and make the right decision . Hire some real leaders , not puppets. Question the business model, Why Mechanical Stuff in Valley, Wire harness? Whats the vision now after all down down and down

I worked at Byton full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Free lunch, flexible hours. Concept car looks nice.

    Cons

Managers are like senior engineers, directors are like program managers. C round funding is not enough to keep the company survived for one year.

    Advice to Management

Step down one or two levels.

I have been working at Byton full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Interesting and rewarding work. Upper management is serious and capable of finding systemic solutions to challenging issues. I have been in the company for several months and I have heard the environment was bad not long ago but I see big effort into a smart restructure of the departments and establishing a collaborative and respectful environment. There is a lot of work so it is imperative to have a place free of... drama and political games.

    Cons

It could be exhausting due to the amount of work and complexity of the task of making such an innovative car but I think the open communication with management is on your favor in order to get support to implement ways to alleviate the workload by finding smart solutions.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing, recruiting hard working people with serious automotive experience and always promoting collaboration between departments and groups and simple but effective organization of the work. It is very refreshing to see that traditional automotive management approach can coexist with new management tools used in the Silicon Valley. I see good things coming for the future.

I worked at Byton full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Flexible hours. Daily catered lunch. Nice, airy, open office space. That's it.

    Cons

The worst management team ever assembled (bit extreme but you get the point). Executive decisions are reactive and show no foresight and advance planning. VPs and Directors are goons and are prone to infighting, backstabbing, power struggles, and empire-building. As if all that isn't enough, the company is almost broke. Vendors have not been paid, including attorneys handling immigration issues. The company... promised visa sponsorships and now H1-B workers are in danger of being out of status. The attrition rate is staggering. Read the reviews. Stay away. Be afraid, be very afraid.

I have been working at Byton full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Work with electrified vehicles & build your resume

    Cons

Where to even start... First and foremost, if you're interviewing and reading this, go home. You don't want to get caught up in this. Engineering Content & Competency: Some teams have a few great members who have accomplished a ton. Most of the company is littered with incompetent hacks though. Management: Everything from completely hands off and void of input, to undermining and malicious. Honestly it's... pretty catastrophic, the to;Dr here is stay away and be cautious of any manager w/ Byton on their resume. Executive Team: Incompetence to the point of probably landing one of them in a Chinese prison. (Bit extreme but valid)
