I have been working at C.H. Robinson full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Industry leader Great benefits (healthcare, dental, PTO, etc.) Flexible schedules Opportunities for continuous growth Robust tools to monitor progress & self-performance If you work hard, you WILL see financial reward!

    Cons

Management assumes you know everything with no prior exposure

    Advice to Management

Work to grow & train your employees. Never assume they already know, or use condescending tones insinuating that they should know.

I have been working at C.H. Robinson full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Work hard play hard mentality, easy to stand out from the crowd with hard work.

    Cons

Lack of flexibility, office location/up keep in Eden Prairie is poor. Kind of embarrassing this is the corporate HQ. Will be hard to bring in new talent and retain millennial's.

I have been working at C.H. Robinson full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Great environment to learn about the industry. Relaxed management styles, flexible hours, incredible co-workers.

      Cons

Lack of sales support within. Corporate direction has great ideas but not real direction or action. Commission payout structure has no clarity. Require customers to pay before they pay their employees, as well as charge their own employees interest of customers do not pay within net terms- out of reps control. Lines blurred between job families. Culture lacking, you feel like another number.

      Advice to Management

Massive company, no cohesiveness between offices. Centralized vision.

I have been working at C.H. Robinson full-time for more than a year

      Pros

The people at CH Robinson are awesome and the company culture is very laid back and easy going. Management is always willing to help and answer questions whenever you need it and their doors are always open.

      Cons

It is VERY corporate. Schedules aren’t flexible at this position and it doesn’t seem like top reps really get rewarded the way they should. Commission is capped so there is not much incentive to sell once you hit quota. Carrier reps do not get laptops so working from home is never an option and you have to work a lot of Saturday’s. 2-3 a month when you first start. This is more of an operational role in my mind and if...

      Advice to Management

Restructure commission plans for carrier sales reps so they can be rewarded for their hard work.

I worked at C.H. Robinson full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Good Salary and Benefits. The people i worked with were nice, but the corp expectations and lack of corp support made the job not fun

      Cons

You have to cold call for all of your business. Not much help elsewhere. I repeat, its all cold calling to find business.

      Advice to Management

The company is still trying to figure out how to measure opportunity and expectations in the US from it's salesforce. This makes it difficult from a sales rep's view to determine how you are progressing as a sales rep in the company.
