I have been working at C.H. Robinson full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Job was awesome. I had super friendly coworkers. I started in SIC- and it was very easy if you're determined, plus you had so much help and training. Almost too much training, lol. Hours were flexible as well.
The job itself was all on the computer. You talked to truckers basically all day. If you had the night shift, or graveyard shift, it was super slow. Morning shift goes by quick because there's so many calls. Once you get the hang of it, it's incredibly easy.
You get 15 minute breaks and one 30 minute break which was great. A lot of decent food areas around you, and not too expensive either; they also had a cafeteria and if you worked the morning shift they had breakfast and lunch and it wasn't too expensive. Also had a lot of vending machines.
Super diverse. Met so many different cool people, all different ages, ethnicities and backgrounds. They were mostly relaxed, no drama. There were almost 800 people at my location (Chicago Central.)
In SIC you could also dress how you wanted which includes piercings. hair colors and tattoos. You could also pretty much dress how you wanted, besides clothes with holes, booty shorts or crop tops.
Also so many opportunities to grow, and the starting off rate isn't terrible .. I also happened to be a lot younger than most people working there, so for me, making anything over minimum wage was great.

    Cons

I saw a lot of people leave, there's a big turn out rate for all different reasons. It can be challenging because it's completely new to most people, but you need to stay determined.
Also sucked it was so far from where i lived, but just a bus/train ride away. (Job was worth the travel)
You work with truck drivers so yes some can be super nasty and/or rude. You just need to have customer service skills in return.
Job can be super boring if you're at the night shift or graveyard shift. It can be super slow; and if you're just sitting at a desk it can be boring. (Pro: you can use your phone as long as you were on "ready", which means you're ready to take calls)
A lot of new people felt looked down upon by people who were higher ups. The departments are all over, but walking to the vending machines could be a little nerve wracking, because you had all the salespeople and account reps staring at you.. Lol.
A lot of people complain about the pay. They seem to give different people different wages, so some people get annoyed.

    Advice to Management

Keep training people, and encourage people to get involved so they don't leave.

    Pros

Every office may be different, there are branches nation. Rochester, MN is a young, hard working, solid group of professionals. We work hard and play hard. This isn't your typical desk job. You are constantly learning new things and trying to find the best options. Strategy is key! Huge room for growth and the company is always looking for more and more customers.

    Cons

It can be a lot to learn very quickly. You may feel like you don't know anything and that there is no hope. Just be mentally tough and keep telling yourself you will get it. The office is very supportive so always ask questions and don't be admit when you just don't know something.

    Pros

You have the ability to make a lot of money quick. You must bring an entrepreneurial-type of mindset to be successful which could be very fulfilling.

    Cons

The colleagues you have to work with aren't as professional as you would hope for (trucking companies, etc.). A very swing or swim atmosphere.
