I have been working at C.H. Robinson full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The benefits package CHR offers is one of the best any Fortune 500 company has to offer. If you work at CHR for over a year, you will see your pay dramatically increase, especially if you put up the numbers that impress management. Golf shirt and jeans are acceptable work attire.

    Cons

If you work in the capacity job family (meaning you work directly with trucking companies), it is difficult to grow your career. There are roughly 22 members of my direct team, 2 of them being supervisors, and 1 being my manager. The only way you can grow within this certain job family is by being promoted to a supervisorial role, which there are few. The company loves to point out how few "rungs on the ladder" are between you and the CEO, however, this means that in order to be promoted, you will have many mountains to climb. If you want to stay at CHR and succeed for a long period of time, you must make a lateral move to account management from the capacity family, as the career growth in that space is much easier to attain.

I worked at C.H. Robinson full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Employees and Management are very nice and willing to help whenever needed. Social outings and at work events brought coworkers closer and made for an overall enjoyable experience.

    Cons

Work is stressful and fast paced. Quotas required to earn commission force employees to work for minimal pay for 2-3 years until they can start to earn commission. This discourages many people from sticking it out and through my time there I saw multiple people leave and new people get hired.
