    Pros

    Close to home and pays well. And great benefits

    Cons

    Working around lead and not having enough senority. So its easy for someone to bump you off your job you love

    Advice to Management

    Be on the floor talking to employees and get feed back

    Pros

    Small enough company to make significant contributions and be recognized.

    Cons

    Old school industry. Financial issues for 15+ yrs. Prior CEO's started downward spiral with bad acquisitions among other things. Subsequent CEO's couldn't figure out how to fix the company, took their money & ran. Current CEO?

    Pros

    The job is close to where I live and the pay is decent

    Cons

    Working with lead management/ training attitude of management was told that we are all replaceable and if we don't do what they want us to do there is the door
    Human resources knows about the issue expecially with certain supervisors and they fail to correct the situation
    Things have gotten bad enough with turnover now that they have Temps in and out daily most Temps work for a day if that and then walk out because of the work environment

    Advice to Management

    Your employees build the company in any position having a constant turnover hurts the company try treating your employees with respect

    Pros

    Great salary folks to work with. Great product in market. Used to be a good plant when Mike Claypool ran it under Johnson Controls. Steady downhill run with C&D in charge. Quite sad.

    Cons

    Tough environment that needs super cleanup efforts in plant to remove lead dust. Constant change in plant manger position. Very poor corp. HR management. Ex high level Mgrs. abused expense accounts with excessive dining and drink and issue with the law. Must have had 6 plant Mgrs. in past 5 years. Removal of incentive system has resulted in less motivation by an already unmotivated union work force. Excessive hours and management by intimidation was the norm. Just look at management turn over and that will tell the story. Maintenance employees needed to have expectations raised and be held accountable for poor performance.

    Advice to Management

    Dissolve union stranglehold on company, weed out non committed people, change culture. Appreciate your salary employees more for their time and efforts. Good Luck

    Pros

    Used to be a good place to work with good people. Local company with factories in numerous states and Mexico.

    Cons

    No reward for good work or extra effort. Will work you 70 hours a week then lay you off the next.

    Advice to Management

    Pay more attention to your non-management employees.

    I have been working at C&D Technologies full-time

    Pros

    The people are a plus and a minus the culture change is a good thing we have both Salaried and Union employees who are engaged in the change. However there is little communication and some of the management are too tightly controlled the Plant Manager wants to make all decisions. Engineering, EH&S and HR spend a lot of time working with us and they walk the talk.

    Cons

    Work hours are long then OT is cut materials are here then not here and not on time with the right product to be shipped let the managers mange too many meetings. Hold poor workers accountable don't be afraid of making the Union leadership mad

    Could get a job ... had many good ideas.

    Cons

    Did not follow up --- lots of programs corporate is not organized

    Advice to Management

    Get the upper level organized ... see everything as a reality.
