    Cons

There is too much nepotism that blocks the path of others who want to climb the corporate ladder.

    Pros

You make excellent money, tight community with your coworkers, you never have to worry about conflict with anyone. Most of all everyone is extremely helpful and cares about your success

    Cons

Physically demanding, you work over night, the hour can range from short to long, and you don't leave until the work is finished,

I have been working at C&S Wholesale Grocers full-time

    Pros

Exposure to many different aspects of the procurement department needs and skills.

    Cons

Work can be very redundant with hundreds of the same email sent daily.

    Advice to Management

Look for opportunity to streamline process in order to make different tasks more efficient. For example the same data is used in three places when a vendor does not ship an item that was on a purchase order when it could entered and uploaded once with three markers and/or comments.

I have been working at C&S Wholesale Grocers full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great communication and open door policy with management, wonderful leaders in place, strong team building, supportive management, opportunity for career advancement as well as career relocation, not a lot of employee turnover - strong retention, management continuing to improve in the workplace with suggestions from employees, C&S encourages employee growth and development, and the company is very involved with the community as well as charities.

    Cons

It can be stressful at times, and there seems to always be a strong sense of urgency but you are supported by your management - and you're supported by your team. So although stress is a con to this job, you're always backed by your coworkers and everyone is always willing to jump in and help when you need assistance.

    Advice to Management

Keep promoting work life balance and encouraging people to utilize their work from home days, and encouraging them to take their lunch to step away from their desk - this is noticed, and appreciated. Continue to keep on motivating us to take walks outside, and to take time away from our desk during the workday.

I worked at C&S Wholesale Grocers full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Never a dull moment, weekly pay for most positions including salaried ones. Room for advancement if you don't mind working 50-60 hours a week and putting in your time.

    Cons

As stated above the work/life balance at C&S is brutal. You will be at your office or in the warehouse for 10+ hours everyday. Even leaving on time was frowned upon. Vacation policy is terrible, only 10 days for first FIVE years. No bonuses outside of Director level, and no holidays observed except for Thanksgiving/Christmas. Very poor training.

    Advice to Management

Make PTO 15 days for salaried employees coming in. Improve the training process.
