      Great Experience Overall

      Pros

Benefits are great. Awesome flexibility. The work's process is redundant, but the day to day keeps it interesting. TDY opportunities (more money!)

      Cons

questionable stability when contracts don't work out. As with all contract work, it could be here one day and slipping the next.

      Pros

The company offers flex time, makes for a good work/family schedule. Paid overtime if approved.

      Cons

Contract work. Company can lose out on a bid and employee looses longevity.

A paycheck with bureaucracy, stinginess, and word service

      Pros

Great co-workers: I like my team a lot. Decent health insurance: Everything I need and no complaints. Good work/life balance: I've worked over 40 hours a week maybe 10 times in the last 6 years.

      Cons

Lack of salary increases/incentive: There's been a freeze on salary increases from 2013-2015 (save for promotions). I've completed contract work that was above and beyond my responsibilities and received no bonus pay or salary increase. Ineffective company policies: As an example, CACI announced a laptop upgrade initiative that would upgrade/replace all employee computers with XP in 2011. I finally got mine about 6 months ago. Our government clients had their machines ready to go before we did and CACI is a tech firm. That's just sad. Precarious industry climate: The government has been awarding contracts to small businesses and cutting overall contract costs more and more over the last 4 years and my group in CACI has been feeling it. Many hard working employees with with valuable skills have been laid off and I worry that I could be next.

      Meh!

      Pros

      1) Relatively laid back environment (at least for most projects). Although that could be a con as well if it gets to the point where its boring because you're not doing anything all day long (except collecting a paycheck).

      Cons

      1) Lack of job security. By its nature, contract work is risky, but even if the company doesn't lose their contract, random budget cuts will cause a person or two on a team to get cut. 2) No room to (voluntarily) move to another project. You're pretty much stuck in whatever project they chose for you, until a manager randomly says "hey you, we need you over hear. You're on X team now." 3) Lots of useless middle-managers that sit around and do nothing all day

      Pros

They are a major Government contractor, this means they can always find you a new contract. The people you will work with tend to be experienced professionals. CACI is generous with time off and most of the bosses I have worked for were very understanding of family needs. Overall good work to life balance.

      Cons

As with most Contract work you are left to your own devices once you reach your client site, but this is to be expected. The focus of major contractors is winning new awards, so if you need constant reassurance you are doing a great job, this may not be the line of work for you.

Government Contract work has its ups and downs.

Aug 28, 2014 - Team Leader in San Antonio, TX

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Company offers generous education benefits that can provide you the skills to advance. The company has a significant variety of work that they support in addition to global wide. This enables an individual to transfer to another area after a year at the current position.

      Cons

Government contract work during this time of financial turmoil can be tricky, stressful and unpredictable due to government leadership. It seems that things are getting worse if you are not supporting Intelligence and Cyber.
