    Pros

Interesting work and opportunity to learn.

    Cons

Management really needs to listen to employees.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your employees as you do with your kids let them time to learn and work happily. Everyone will be happy at the end.

    Pros

Get experience, exposure to clients, international travel, sophisticated products. Hire new graduates without experience. Multicultural employees and clients.

    Cons

Irregular working hours, return date of field assignment unknown, has to split vacation time to avoid delaying work, does not use the French language of the province of Quebec except for layoff notice. Fear is the main motivation technique. Has some cults caracteristics.

I worked at CAE Electronics full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The work is interesting, peers are helpful, everyone is proud of the simulator products, and balance of personal time to overtime.

    Cons

Managers don't talk to subordinates. In one experience, the manager of a group of 20 did not even know the names of the people that were reporting to him/her. The managers were in a world of their own, summarizing the work of the staff, and rarely leaving their office. except to report to their own manager.

    Advice to Management

Dump the attitude problems. Equipment does not make a great company, but the people, the engineering staff, and the workers. Many employees were excluded from meetings because of not having a university degree, and the day after the employee graduated, he was admitted to meetings.

    Pros

Great Travel opportunities with deployment department, you can see the world! Paid overtime and great coworkers!

    Cons

Well, you can burn out, 12 hours shifts in field is a norm. Recent hold backs in Engineering hiring are worrisome. It is very hard to grow, very flat org structure does not provide a lot of ways up. Lots of ways to move laterally though.

    Advice to Management

Guys, get your hiring right, people are overloaded.

    Pros

Young spirit with young people who want thing (project) to move.
On the edge of the technologie.
Not very structure but the company can turn on a dime.

    Cons

Since the pyramid of management is a maximum of three levels: You, your boss and the president of the company. Don't think to move high in the hierarchic.

    Advice to Management

Share and promote strategy with employee base. Motivate by offering incetives in return for hard work and contributions to bottom line.

    Pros

CAE is a great place to be technically challenged, learn a lot in a very short time and to be given high responsibilities.

    Cons

CAE is often trying to do to many things for the resources they have. This lead to engineers being assigned to too many projects at the same time which is not always very efficient.

    Advice to Management

More engineers should be hired to sustain the work load and ensure a better future without burning out the current team.

    Pros

good people / satisfactory working environment / flexable working hours / flexable vacation periods / time off when necessary / location

    Cons

Employee must be in the bosses pocket if there is any room for advancement within the department. Also, the employer is notorious for rumors.

    Advice to Management

Management should be more honest when revealing their quarterly stats. Back in Nov 08, after receiving grants from the Federal government, management stated that the work will definately increase for 2009. In May 09, there were layoffs.
