    I have been working at CAE full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Decent benefits. Low stress because no one is held accountable.

    Cons

    80% of the company seemingly cannot even do their job. The bar is so low and rather than letting them go they just move people around from department to department; meanwhile, there are a handful of high performers that make the company tick. Nepotism is rampant. Little to no accountability, from the tactical level to the directors. Culture is repressive and built on a foundation of fear. Way behind the curve in terms of the technological tools they leverage because they just cut things and never invest in anything. People in positions of power abuse it.

    Advice to Management

    Get rid of all the toxic people and invest in your people and the business. Pick a direction and execute a critical few initiatives well, rather than 20-30 poorly.

    I worked at CAE full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Good Benefits, in general most employees are good to work with.

    Cons

    Management is good at running the business but fail at employee engagement. The hard working employees have to pick up the slack for those that aren't. No one held accountable. Management belittles employees. HR is useless and protects management instead of getting to the real problems . The work environment is very hostile. No advancements for women. Co workers are allowed to be disruptive and unprofessional to others. Empty promises from management. CAE used to be a great place to work but reorganize every two years with new upper management with their own goals in mind and is destroying the company. The good and long lasting employees are leaving. Every week there's a new person leaving. I have witnessed harassment and bulling to others.

    Clean house!!!!!

    Pros

    Work-life balance is what you make of it.
    A small core of very committed people try their best to make it a good place to work.
    The business has great potential in the market.

    Cons

    This is a monarchy. The king issues his decrees from a far-off castle in Montreal and the lords, ladies and peasants must obey. If you can't, it's off with your head.

    Instead of listing all the problems, I will simply say, people here either escape as soon as they find another opportunity or have been here so long that they just keep their heads down and dream of their not-too-distant retirement--that or they are still hoping that a white knight will someday come and free them.

    Advice to Management

    Broaden yourselves and your experience. Find managers and executives with new perspectives and stronger leadership who can elaborate a strategy and stick with it for longer than a month. Support and empower your people rather than starve and belittle them. Update your systems, the right way. Make plans, real plans that are based on real data and real opportunities. And show a little backbone in front of the Wall Street analysts.

    Pros

    Best company to work for in the aviation simulation world. Good on your resume if you want to go elsewhere.

    Cons

    Hard to move up in your own site. Your only chance to move up is if someone leaves or willing to relocate to other states.

    Management is actually ok

    Pros

    The pay is decent, the benefits package is average. There aren't too many items to include on this list, unfortunately.

    Cons

    Where do I begin? I think the reactive decision making may be the worst of it, and I have never seen an organization this large operate in this fashion.

    Advice to Management

    Make a strategy, be proactive about things, and deliver on promises.
