I have been working at CAI International full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

CAI is a very steady ship. For my time at the company, I have been quite pleased with the management.

    Cons

CAI can be a bit stingy. Being a public company in a competitive industry, I imagine tightening the belt seems fashionable, to keep investors at bay. But I think the company could afford to provide more benefits.

I worked at CAI International (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The best company I'd ever worked for; excellently managed, very employee oriented, friendly and supportive environment, encourages open communications with management, above average benefits.

    Cons

At the time I worked there, only selected management employees participated in the Company's Equity Incentive Plan. Stock Options are granted only to the Board of Directors, senior executives and a few senior managers.

    Advice to Management

I recommend that management implement a stock purchase plan for employees to encourage investment in the company.

    Pros

Great culture, open communications with top management, generous benefits including annual bonus, great perks such as free coffee and beverages, occasional free lunches, annual picnic and Christmas party, very accessible by public transportation (BART, Muni, etc.), company pays for CPE seminars.

    Cons

Occasional commute delays, no college tuition reimbursement program, no stock options to lower level employees, not much cons to think about.

    Advice to Management

Support employees' higher education by providing college tuition assistance, employee appraisal policy must be improved by setting performance goals and objectives at the beginning of appraisal period.
