I have been working at CAL POLY part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Only need to travel to one place for both work and school, able to work in between classes, on days when I have only one lecture I can work the rest of the day

    Cons

You are on campus everyday, all day.... though that might be a pro since you're available to study or meet up with other students

I have been working at CAL POLY full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

College amenities, quality of work, students are all positives that enhance the work environment. Sports and culture events promote a sense of community.

    Cons

Some of the facilities are dated and not well maintained. Older buildings and constant construction are downsides. Lack of diversity in executive staff and faculty.

    Advice to Management

Work on improving diversity by hiring and retaining employees. Add more employee education opportunities and short courses.

    Pros

Really understanding towards student employees and their academic commitments. The hours were very flexible and I could arrange my schedule differently if projects or midterms came up. We also got holidays off.

    Cons

In my specific department, there was a lack of mentorship and accountability. I did not feel like I had guidance or encouragement, nor were there performance reviews. I did not ever know where I stood or had constructive criticism on what I could to do to improve.

    Advice to Management

Some sort of program or process should be implemented to help employees grow in their specific fields and there should be performance reviews. Student employees need more guidance and could use a mentor to look up to.
