I have been working at CAL POLY full-time

    Pros

Working for Cal Poly is very enjoyable if you're looking for long-term career stability, work-life balance, and a chance to keep learning and polishing your skills as you work. Coworkers are generally friendly and respectful, and honest feedback and communication is encouraged. Lots of projects involve research and development into impact on the campus so you need to be self-motivated to learn new skill sets.

    Cons

As a state university, promotions are infrequent and salary is not as competitive compared to the rest of the industry, which is an expected trade-off.

    Advice to Management

Reorganization/restructuring happens once in a few years so be aware of changes in team dynamics and acceptance level of new changes.

    Pros

Not any good pros to drive in on campus!

    Cons

The campus police is too much! No where to stop on campus to drop off riders. A constant nagging of drivers and students.

    Advice to Management

Make more drop off accessibility!! Give these people more to do than to be so forceful and rude.

I have been working at CAL POLY part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great Learning Experience, Easy Job, Meet new people, Good pay relative to other student jobs, very flexible, gain greater understanding of the struggles as a teacher

    Cons

The selection process is not the best and sometimes the best candidate isn't the one that gets the jobs. Its more on favoritism and teacher relations. This takes away from the students experience from the class.

    Advice to Management

Make selection process more though out.

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

Hours are very flexible and will suit your class schedule, work up to 20h/week. The other workers are generally very friendly.

    Cons

Jobs can be monotonous, and talking or listening to music while working the floor is discouraged, so shifts can feel very long.

    Advice to Management

Be more organized; oftentimes people could be doing something more efficient but aren't. Also, find a better communication system between cooks and line severs if possible, since miscommunication were too frequent.
