I worked at CAL POLY full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Nice beach environment and nice co-workers. Students for the most part did not act entitled. Hard working staff who made a difference every day with poverty wages.

    Cons

Lack of pay increases, lack of mobility and top heavy for management. Staff would be handed more work with no increase in pay meanwhile managers were promoted without necessity. No real checks and balances.Extremely expensive area to live and work.

    Advice to Management

Recognize your staff, value them by paying a living wage.
