I worked at CAREstream Medical full-time

    Pros

Very good medical products to sell into the health care system. Previous owner had a vision and the drive to build the company to where it has grown to.

    Cons

Current owners and managers lacking the real leadership needed to see success. They don't fully understand the business, especially pulmonary diagnostics and ventilation and the importance of EMR and HIS integration.

I worked at CAREstream Medical full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Generally good cameraderie amongst long time staff. RRSP matching is great. lunches bought for staff every two weeks.

    Cons

Antiquated computer system that is a home system not one suited to a company. Computer system crashes/kicks you out at least 3 times a day. At lease twice a week the whole system crashes and the whole company cannot work as everything is on the computer. this is due to the company trying to save money and using cheap software and hardware rather than investing in a better computer system. The office staff have to...

    Advice to Management

When you wish to make changes to your company, your staff should always be involved in your decisions. Not talking to staff means that you are probably missing key points that will only frustrate your staff more and make it seem as if you dont really give a damn if your changes may make their jobs harder.

I worked at CAREstream Medical full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Employees get along well and have great support system.

    Cons

Management are disrespectful, corrupt and invisible. They do not communicate effectively and hold secret meetings. Employees seem to accept the conditions and become complacent because they cannot afford to find other jobs and or have lost their confidence. Great employees leave because they cannot deal with corrupt and arrogant managers.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees rather than ignoring them. Clean house by investing in existing employees and promoting them to managers. Get rid of bad management who favor nepotism and favoritism.
