    Nice place to work, people there are very nice, A very good work experience.

    Nothing really. Learned a lot there in my summer intern.

    Best place for people who are passionate for science and technology. Huge area for improvement

    Pros

    Nothing comes to mind now.

    Cons

    Student residency is like shithole.
    Forget about future.
    Very professional in publishing absolutely useless papers.
    No career service at all.
    Even you do postdoc abroad, no chance to stay abroad.
    Administrative service not existing, will make barriers for everything.

    Advice to Management

    Do not treat students like cheap workers as somewhere else in China.

    Do not treat professors as gods.

    Do not put papers above students' benefit.

    Lots of research funding floating around. Great for self-motivated intellectuals. Better pay than graduate students at universities.

    Cons

    Bureaucracy. A bit too much influence from political management.

    Less interference with science teams

    One of the best research Institutes in China and its location is in Shanghai.

    Cons

    Low salary and the atmosphere there is bad

    Advice to Management

    If your are in China and want to do fundamental research, you can go there.
