I have been working at CB&I full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Flexible schedule and decent pay

    Cons

Incompetent executive team has made some incredibly bad decisions in recent years. Shaw acquisition has been a disaster. There is zero accountability. Dynamics across the company are nonexistent. Toxic and political environment. Lack of strategic methodology.

    Advice to Management

Remove the executive team which has been a miserable failure. Establish a culture of teamwork instead of talking the talk. Step out of the 90s when it comes to business technology.

    Pros

Salary pay is above the average

    Cons

Management Don't interest to upgrade current condition to get better and easier. They keep using old system and afraid to loose their position. Sometimes their decision is not engineering and like a politician.

    Advice to Management

Please don't work only the engineer who cleverly approached to them only and need to discuss every engineer to improve the best for company. Please keep their mind to thrust the new employ engineer also. Please do not use the outdated software and use updated software to get the best for the company.

Few: the nice people are so afraid of loosing their jobs that they all carry daggers for other people's backs.

    Cons

Up and down work schedule, very disparate pay scheme, poor to no incentive scheme. Lack of accountability. Paper thin budgets that favor the stratified elite.

    Advice to Management

    I worked at CB&I full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The hiring process is fair and ok.
There is work as full time as long as there are projects to charge

    Cons

There is minimum or not overhead allowable, which is same as contract work
    Work environment is poor

    Advice to Management

Employment should be based on performance. My particular experience is that performance is not considered to stay on overhead, but rather connections. This is a bad practice that does not go on notice.

    Pros

The pay is decent pay, not great , but decent. The atmosphere is quiet, maybe too quiet. Don't be passionate about anything because that's not the corporate culture. There's free coffee.

    Cons

Poor management that make promises they don't keep. They cut the heath care coverage but raised the rates, so don't get sick. There is no room to advance even though they talk a lot about training.

    Advice to Management

Live up to yoru promises of training and career paths.

    Pros

Good Benefits. Great travel opps (when they had work). Beautiful Corporate offices. Fully integrated EPC. Flex schedule available in some locations.

    Cons

Terrible Management. Times are tough and the company is still hiring Sr level folks that do nothing to help failing projects. Unless you know someone there is little hope for advancement. Flagrant violation of company policies around personal relationships btwn employees. If your a director or above, HR will protect you no matter your sin.

    Advice to Management

Clean house down to the hundreds of Directors.
