I have been working at CBRE full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Small teams are (generally) well organized and cohesive, having the option to work remotely is really nice, especially if you have a busier life/family/kids after work, work life balance seems decent for most of the month/year. Team/company events are a nice break from the day to day.

    Cons

Once you prove that you can outperform the expectations management sets for you, you are not rewarded with commendation/promotion, instead, your workload increases, while the workloads of those who under-perform decreases. Essentially, the more efficiently you work, the more work you will be given, while the less you do, the less you have on your desk. This has much to do with the pointing systems used - the point value of each property is skewed based on the accountant completing the monthly reporting for each. While it might take an efficient accountant 2 hours to do one task for a certain property, but 5 hours for a less efficient accountant, the point value is skewed to benefit the latter, as the assumption in the pointing system is that everyone works at the same level of efficiency and productivity.

    I worked at CBRE full-time

    Pros

You get 2 hour early release on holidays.

    Cons

This is the worst company to work for. They don't care about their employees. They treat their employees with zero respect. I'd never recommend this company ever.

    Advice to Management

You need to learn how to treat your employees better. Especially on the EOP team. Loosen up on the micro managing and let your employees do their job

    Cons

Slave drivers, repetitive and dry. Little time to take off completely

    Advice to Management

Point properties more accurately. Dont over work employees

    Pros

They are #1 at what they do, so it's a company always growing and improving.

    Cons

Individual offices don't all function the same and so what you love most about CBRE might not be as represented in a smaller market and in a smaller office.

    Advice to Management

They should have to go through extensive training in CBRE's vision and goal for their employees. They need to figure out a way to really create the environment they want within every single office, so that each one is an accurate and positive representation of the brand.

I have been working at CBRE full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Work from home twice a week. Lax attire.

    Cons

Below average salaries compared to market, expensive health insurance

    Advice to Management

Focus on retention as over 20% of staff left the company, hire the right managers who want to be leaders and care about the morale of their team.

I worked at CBRE full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits. Good programs to support the community. I liked being able to work from home a couple days a week.

    Cons

It takes a long time to get promoted. I didn't have a good manager which made things stressful. He'd always need to go to his supervisor if he wasn't sure on how to make a decision. Even the simple issues. I don't think upper management has any clue what's going on with the employees.

    Advice to Management

Train your managers so they know how to manage staff.
