I have been working at CBRE full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Work/life balance is great. Ability to work remotely twice a week a huge plus.

    Cons

Mentoring can be up in the air depending on team.

I have been working at CBRE full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Work from home twice a week. Lax attire.

    Cons

Below average salaries compared to market, expensive health insurance

    Advice to Management

Focus on retention as over 20% of staff left the company, hire the right managers who want to be leaders and care about the morale of their team.

I worked at CBRE full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits. Good programs to support the community. I liked being able to work from home a couple days a week.

    Cons

It takes a long time to get promoted. I didn't have a good manager which made things stressful. He'd always need to go to his supervisor if he wasn't sure on how to make a decision. Even the simple issues. I don't think upper management has any clue what's going on with the employees.

    Advice to Management

Train your managers so they know how to manage staff.

I have been working at CBRE full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

For me the pros are the remote day program, they do a lot of outing for the employees. They have a laid back atmosphere regarding work attire.

    Cons

The pay is low, people are pushed into jobs they don't want. Currently my manger does not have as much experience as I do on our client and he didn't want to be a manager, but they said he had to take the job. Working for someone with no management experience and less client experience is very challenging. They do not require current managers to go to management training but highly suggest it if you are interested in moving into management. Also, upper management will define a policy and not stick to it. I have had 2 people moved to different positions within the company after being in their position for less than 6 months.

    Advice to Management

    Increase pay.

I have been working at CBRE full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

My accounting team is absolutely amazing and I have NEVER worked somewhere where my boss loves to train, has our backs and stands up for us

    Cons

Teams do not work together, high school drama between REMS and accounting when all we do is try to teach REMS policy and procedures.
The Managing Director of Asset Services does not work with our team to promote camaraderie between teams.

    Advice to Management

Be ethical, promote camaraderie between departments (teams), follow the R.I.S.E values

I worked at CBRE full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The communication and relationships between members on other teams made working at this company easier. Team members did try to help explain new reports and new software when they had time. The benefits were pretty good. The Corporate Compliance director was a stand up member of management.

    Cons

Metrics ruled everything. There was no allowance for unusual requests or errors made by the field team that take more time than "planned". Too many mandatory meetings signifying nothing. Training on new software was useless. Too many managers and supervisors and a lot of them did nothing but push meeting deadlines, but couldn't meet their own. The Human Resources Manager revealed confidential information to people in management. Salaries are below the average for comparable jobs in the area.

    Advice to Management

If you really mean what you say in your RISE values, you might want to listen to the non-management employees. Honesty is missing in some of the controllers and managers, but when asked about what is said about them, it's always someone else's problem. Beware.

    Pros

Environment and company events. People are great to talk to and love to help whenever possible. The technology is great.

    Cons

Fast paced environment and not much time to train since most of the training is on the job. Even after training, there are many variables that make each job different.
