I worked at CBRE full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Networking opportunities, some growth opportunities (if you know who talk to)

    Cons

Too much drama and preferential treatment, not enough oversight of and attention paid to employees at the bottom

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to what's going on with employees at the non-corporate level.

    Pros

Work from home twice a week. Lax attire.

    Cons

Below average salaries compared to market, expensive health insurance

    Advice to Management

Focus on retention as over 20% of staff left the company, hire the right managers who want to be leaders and care about the morale of their team.

I have been working at CBRE full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Everyone is really nice and the office environments is incredibly supportive and welcoming. There are a lot of perks like Summer Fridays and relaxed vacation and sick days. Most teams are very easy to work with. And the HR dept is 5 star

    Cons

Too easy, and too slow. There are many days and hours where I have so little to do. And if you have a bad desk you're screwed. You have no say where you sit.

    Advice to Management

If there are empty desks that people can use, just give them to the people who have worked here and plan to stay. Stop giving visitors nice desks its not fair.

I worked at CBRE full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits. Good programs to support the community. I liked being able to work from home a couple days a week.

    Cons

It takes a long time to get promoted. I didn't have a good manager which made things stressful. He'd always need to go to his supervisor if he wasn't sure on how to make a decision. Even the simple issues. I don't think upper management has any clue what's going on with the employees.

    Advice to Management

Train your managers so they know how to manage staff.

    Pros

Good people to work with. Benefits were OK, but most in this space do not offer much.

    Cons

Over worked management who slave drive their employees. To much turn over.

    Advice to Management

    Spread the pain.

I worked at CBRE full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good corporate environment
    Low stress
    Friendly people
Great stepping stone to becoming a broker
    Decent pay and benefits
Huge company all over the world

    Cons

Any job in the COE is a mostly data entry job. I interviewed for a data analyst job using mainly Tableau and was eventually taken off of all Tableau projects to focus on entering data in the database, reviewing data in the database, and entering more data in the database. That's all corporate wanted us doing.

    Advice to Management

No one is going to last long doing this kind of work. And management should be honest about what the job actually is. I did not work the job I interviewed for.

I worked at CBRE (Less than a year)

    Pros

New Facility, some good employees, equipment in good condition. Facility clean and had plenty of back-ups as any good Data Center should be. The location was good. Security was really too loose for the type of site that it is built for.

    Cons

Terrible Management and Supervisors. They were out for me because I knew more than most employees that had worked there over 5-10 years. They felt that I would be trouble because I would eventually be a problem because they would have to explain why other staff members were not qualified enough to be working there.

    Advice to Management

Replace Management Staff and Future Training for all Management Staff.

I have been working at CBRE full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

-Strong brand and presence in this market.
-Reputable company that's been around for a long time and continues to grow.
-Good to have on your resume and learn about financial metrics if you're into that.
-Its a good standard corporate company
    -Better than the competition

    Cons

-Very corporate with a lot of chiefs that focus on metrics that benefit the top, but distracts from the delivery of service.
-Some employees let the strength of the brand rather than their performance carry them.
    -Standard corporate benefits.
-Work with a lot of great and interesting clients, but CBRE itself is not so.
    -High turnover

    Advice to Management

The company is great at profits and a corporate leader, you may just want to see how to reduce turnover...or not.

Build better diversity. Certain work groups do better than others, but there's definitely some that lack diversity.
