I have been working at CBRE full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Company culture is great.
Company offers lots of great free training
Company is always looking for ways to utilize technology to stay relevant
The company is very inclusive lots of women and people of color working within the company.

    Cons

Sometimes you can get stuck in one position. It can be difficult to work your way up in the company.
    Management has their obvious favorites.
Although staff and employees are very diverse, upper managements is still very much dominated by white men.
In staff positions, if you get put on one team, you can get stuck working on that one team with no option for movement to other teams. You literally have to find new departments to work in if you want to grow even then it may just be a unilateral move.

    Advice to Management

You have a lot of very highly educated and talented people working as staff. Invest in them, those who want to put in the work to learn more and move up should not be pigeon holed into one role. Cultivate the talent you have within your company. Management likes to say they have an open-door policy. However, it can be difficult to get face time with them and when you do they seem to forget the items you discussed once you've walked out the door.

I have been working at CBRE full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Global Organization with opportunities in many different industries.

    Cons

Being a global organization it is normal to rebuild and re-organize if done correctly, it feels choppy at times as changes abound but it gets better once things are explained at the "local" level.

    Advice to Management

Sometimes the "global beast" feels big to the "local teams". Need to continue building ways to keep the smaller teams integrated into the larger CBRE.

I have been working at CBRE (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of ways to get involved and network with other employees. Additionally, because of the breadth of clients CBRE works with, there are many opportunities to transfer from client to client while still maintaining sustained employment at CBRE (Starbucks, Microsoft, Amazon, Expedia, etc)

    Cons

Employee discount portfolio is surprisingly lacking for a company of CBRE's size

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work
