I worked at CBS Radio full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A fantastic group of radio pros, who love their job and therefore make the environment so much fun to be a part of. Being involved in radio, provides you the opportunity to be involved in so many wide-ranging and diverse roles, experiences, and campaigns. It is a very unique place to work, that is never boring or mundane. Generally speaking the management staff did a good job, staying involved and ready to help.

    Cons

Radio is well radio, It has been and will probably continue to struggle. There are a lot of media sources and the like competing for advertisers dollars, so the fight to keep sales up is tough. I dont think radio is going anywhere, and most of the sales teams are very good at what they do. It is just important to note that competition is fierce.

    Advice to Management

Build out specialized marketing talent in order to up the value that the stations can offer clients. Invest in new tech that compliments radio, so that ad dollars can be kept in line and in house.

I have been working at CBS Radio part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pros of this position are that you get to go to cool events, could be a great job for students and a possible gateway to new opportunities within the company.

    Cons

The pay is unlivable this is definitely not a full-time position. The hours can vary from week to week. You could have over 40 hours one week and the next you could have one shift that's 5 hours at most. At this position you are basically at the bottom and there are some people that are going to treat you like it. Harsh weather can also be a down side.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees well because they certainly aren't working here for the pay.
