    Positive Outlook

I have been working at CBS Radio full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Products are really good, lots of tools to be utilized. Great digital platform and events platform. CBS is the superior cluster in the market and the most respected and longest tenure. Managers are great, DOS cares about his managers and sales people which is nice.

    Cons

Can be high pressure and have high expectations. The trade off is great pay. Unlimited potential but sales is difficult.

    Advice to Management

Just continue to try and rewa d people for their jobs.

I have been working at CBS Radio part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Lots of work verity with different events and people.

    Cons

Disorganized and you treated like "The Help" if you are not full time employee.

    Advice to Management

Treat all employees with respect and dignity. Allow for growth within the company not by just posting the jobs to current employees but also respectfully interviewing them. Everyone full time and part-time should be included in company events and celebrations.

I have been working at CBS Radio (Less than a year)

    Pros

Easy to network with even the top talent at most stations, which enables a lot of networking and beneficial relationships.

    Cons

Terrible pay, long hours, not too many opportunities for growth unless you're in the sales department.

    Advice to Management

Look at the work your part-timers do, and reconsider your $10/hr wage. It would boost moral and exposure of your stations.

    Pros

A good stepping stone, at first. Very friendly and helpful talent and supervisors. Tight-knit group, not much in the drama department. The upper-brass at my cluster were knowledgeable and usually acted in the best interest of the employees and the station, in general.

    Cons

The hours were incredibly unstable and inconsistent. During busy seasons, you could be working 25-30 hours one week and 5-10 the next. Even fewer, in the winter. Pay is very low ($8/hour), which is industry standard, but due to this and the hours, you cannot maintain this as a single job. You must find other work in order to survive week-to-week.

Last year, CBS Radio got new executive brass and ordered their clusters to slash costs left-and-right in order to try and sell off the company, resulting in massive layoffs and cutbacks. This also, inadvertently, resulted in my hours getting slashed to sometimes 10-15 hours per month. Saw a lot of talented and familiar faces go, in order to save a few bucks. This changed the culture of the workplace entirely, with people now being either upset at getting extra work for no sort of compensation or fearful that they may end up being next on the layoff list. It's sad because I feel that the local clusters themselves had nothing to do with it, so they're simply stuck executing orders.
