    Negative Outlook

I have been working at CCCS of MD & DE full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Not-for-profit, community focused, offers programs that work and provide financial literacy.

    Cons

Consumers attitudes have changed making the programs offered not appealing, stricter guidelines by financial institutions limit program viability. Layoffs, reduced benefits and increased cost for the benefits offered. Staff - like a revolving door, including management. New CEO - can't make up her mind what direction she wants to go. Your security here depends if you are liked this week.

    Advice to Management

Redefine yourself. Concentrate on housing, debt management plans are a thing of the past.

    Pros

    Cons

too many people trying to be boss

    Advice to Management

listen to your employees, they are doing the job everyday. You cant tell someone how to do a job you have never done.

    Neutral Outlook

    Pros

It was very rewarding to help clients craft viable debt solutions.

    Cons

The training you receive is awful, period! This company has been around way to long to have this type of horrendous training.
I worked for Guidewell Financial (formerly CCCS of MD & DE) for 4 years I never heard nor hear about someone receiving accolades for their work.
There is NO (and I mean ZERO) opportunity for growth with the organization.

    Advice to Management

Many times I heard conversations where colleagues discussed how management was not resource and at time they saw spiteful.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at CCCS of MD & DE full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

-I loved my direct co-workers, some of them are life long friends (but you can't help but bond with people dealing with the same working conditions)
-Being able to help people at high stress moments of their lives

    Cons

-This place is more of a "sales" environment then you might think.
-Management from direct supervisors all the way up to the CEO are untrained, No college education and masters of making you feel that you need them more than they need you.
-Pay is drastically below par and do not expect a raise for the life of you CCCS career.
-Some Business Practices are almost unethical. The main concern of the program is to get people started regardless of if they can maintain the payment schedule.
-No room for advancement and if you do advance you will have no support to be successful at it. More often than not you will see someone promoted and demoted within the same year.
-Stability and longevity of this company is very scary. They have been operating in the red for some time. Truthfully i am shocked to see that they are still afloat.

    Advice to Management

Please adjust your management style to suit the quality of work this place could produce. Get an education or retire or the company will never get out of the hole that it has dug.

    Pros

The Debt Mangement Plan does work

    Cons

The CEO lead by intimidation. Their interested is in how many Debt Management Plans you can get people to join.

    Advice to Management

Rehire new top management, stop twisting the truth to justify your behavior
