I have been working at CCME (Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence) full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexibility with schedule, work from home

    Cons

Low pay, vacation time, upper management

    Advice to Management

Demonstrating acknowledgment of employee worth is important to morale and retention. Making financial cut-backs is important in some areas but year after year of withholding raises is discouraging.

I worked at CCME (Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence) full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Job stability
    Stability pay check
Bonus pay for managers linked to your department performance budget & departmental goals!

    Cons

This healthcare system is all about making a dollar and cutting back where ever & when ever they can!
You are told who to give political donations to for support; those politicians that support the mission and for profit business of the hospital! Front line manager are threatened year after year based on Employee Engagement Survery! Human Resources does not support managers at all, they are all the BIGGEST joke! Benefits are the worst ever. Insurance premiums are HIGH! Extended illness time taken away. 401 K plan no longer being matched and the list goes on and on!
Trust me you do not want to work within Surgical Services at any of their facilities! Run the other way, in the opposite direction of this place!

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring more top heavy Vice Presidents & Assistant Vice Presdients and hire working front line managers & supervisors! Don't being a bully and telling managers who to give political support and donations to. Treat managers better than what you treat them! Stop bulling managers and making them do all of the hard dirty work! Come out from your high rise offices and round on patients and employees that you try to sell to front line managers
Make positive changes that will make CHS a place where people want to work! Morale is at an all time low! Benefits are at an all time low! Get rid of high salary VP's and Asst VP's & Directors and listen to staff! Worse place I have ever worked in my 30 years of nursing!

I have been working at CCME (Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence) part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

CCME has integrity and provides services necessary to improve the quality of health care systems for our communities. The following list of distinguishing characteristics are noted at CCME.
    Knowledgeable staff
    Compassionate staff
    Introspective leadership
    Transparent executive team
    Dedicated professional team members
    High corporate service goals
    Home base positions
    Flexible hours
    Respected company
Decent benefit package for full-time employees
    Retirement savings plan with match
    Bonus program
    New building
Exciting new corporate direction that has potential to secure the company as a national leader in healthcare quality improvement

    Cons

CCME has encountered unavoidable obstacles specific to changes in the healthcare industry and resulting in a necessary change in direction by leadership. The following is a list of characteristics that need to be considered.
Substantial change (necessary) has created insecurity and some negativity in the work force.
Advancement within the organization can be challenging due to a departmental leader's hesitancy to lose productive members of the department.
Orientation to some positions is weak.
Limited professional resources to enrich staff.
A few staff members are in leadership positions that are not well suited with their capabilities.
Low salary range for some positions does not reflect professional skill set.
No employee reimbursement for home office expenses.
Long term temporary staff generate huge volumes of billable work and need to be valued.

    Advice to Management

Remain focused on the new direction. Continue to seek new, sustainable contracts. Improve orientation and resources for employees. Continue to institute necessary cost containment initiatives despite the challenges. Consider removing some middle management positions since teams consists of competent, autonomous professionals. Provide additional leadership training and technology training for supervisors, manager, and team leaders. When CCME has obtained reasonable financial security, provide salary adjustments for part-time, full-time, and direct hire temporary staff.

    Pros

Friendly friends and co-workers, free coffees, music in the restrooms, office closing sale and give staff good deals.

    Cons

Benefits dropped like a meteor falling down to earth. Your life insurance now only 1 time salary, it used to be five times. It means they see your live is cheap. Many other strict rules are coming, including dress code like a clown. Check other reviews before riding the meteor

    Advice to Management

Board of directors need to take a lead

I worked at CCME (Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence) full-time

    Pros

Some individuals are genuinely caring and good to work with/for. Most there are quite smart, experienced, and dedicated to their work.

    Cons

Generally toxic professional culture from the top down: little strategic direction, but plenty of deflected blame to go around. Also, underinvestment in the business.

    Advice to Management

Strategic direction for the business needs to come from the top. Be willing to admit mistakes and weaknesses. Be more humble and personable. Trust dedicated, seasoned professionals to do their work without micromanagement and constant suspicion. Decide what businesses you want to be in, and invest in them.
