I have been working at CD PROJEKT RED full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I joined CDP few months before E3 2019, before I worked at a several AAA game development studios in North America and Europe. I was there for a crunch period before the show, getting the demo ready. Anyways, the pros: -You got to work on the most anticipated game -There is some really advanced tech under the hood to work on -People are MUCH more motivated than at my previous jobs -26 days of paid vacations + paid...

    Cons

There hasn't been many for me so far, despite I've been very concerned reading the Glassdoor reviews :) But apparently, it's either they are too emotional, or the company has changed A LOT. Anyway, if I were to nitpick something to try to be objective: There were a few hiccups during the recruitment process: particularly, there were some delays in the interview process and a confusion for the starting date. Also, the...

    Advice to Management

Some people would love to work on CDP titles, but are afraid of moving to Poland. Consider opening a studio in North America (Montreal/LA could be good places to consider) to be able to attract international talent unwilling to relocate. Always, despite benefits are already fair, they can always be improved, especially compared to outside of gamedev (Google, Facebook etc). 1 hour of Polish lessons per week is not...

    Cons

-Moving to Poland was a very intense and overwhelming process, even with all the help provided from HR -Economically things can get tough due to lower salaries -The studio can get very loud and noisy, I often struggle to concentrate with my work (I am one of those who needs a calmer work environment) -If you happen to get a cold and need to stay at home for a day or two you need a doctors note within 2 days...

I have been working at CD PROJEKT RED full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

In my 9 years of career in the Industry this the best company i have ever worked for. The search for quality and pushing the boundaries is constant. The team behind story, quest and graphics are triple AAA world-class standard. The leads behind them are a big part of it. I have tremendously progressed in my domain being among this team. I trust the decisions of the board and PR/Marketing. Their games are loved by their...

    Cons

I would not recommend this company for those who are not ready to push themselves and those who just want a 9 to 17h without any trouble. There will be some overtime coming toward the ends of big milestones. This is a classic flaw in this industry, I had much worse conditions in other companies working crazy hours for a sub-par game. We haven't made the GOTY 2016 without sweat and blood for sure... but since when does...

    Advice to Management

Pr and marketing: keep doing what you do. It is the first time in my career i have been considered a star and acclaimed in the streets of Warsaw by fans. You're doing it right. Producers: be more lenient for those who are less punctual and consider the quality of the job and if it's done in time more than their presence on time.

    Cons

    - you have to learn how to adopt if priorities are changing (and it happens from time to time), - it’s not a walk in the park.

    Advice to Management

    - Try to talk more with team members on lower levels, they should know you better and understand more the reasoning behind some of your decisions.
