I worked at CDI Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

CDI is a large national company and has some pretty good large customers

    Cons

Lots of turnover of executive management, strategy changes every 2-3 months. Executives of the company do not come from staffing and it is obvious that they don't know what they are doing.

    Advice to Management

Hire executives that know the industry and give them time to actually execute a strategy.

I have been working at CDI Corporation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

CDI Corp is a good company to begin your career with if you want to work for and create relationships within companies that carry heavy brand recognition as a contractor or vendor. Use as a stepping stone to achieve your goals of networking with extremely intelligent & gifted individuals in the companies you're contracted to work.

My coworkers and manager are amazing people. They are inspirational, hardworking, and are goal oriented. Easily one of the best parts to working here.

    Cons

The health benefits, no overtime, vacation policy (5 days / year) and the archaic use of Internet Explorer to perform payroll & other admin duties.

    Advice to Management

Offer both more comprehensive healthcare plans at a lower cost to employees, and a few more day of vacation. It will not hurt anyone to have a week or two of vacation instead of burning out.

I have been working at CDI Corporation full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Using a W-2 less hassle than reporting on 1099 and I like my assignment at the company I report to every day. I'd give that experience a 4 star review.

    Cons

I'm contracted out with ZERO support from CDI management. I only hear from them if I have a layoff to deal with and then it's usually weeks after any of the other contractors get their notice. No raise in over 5 years - not even an increase in days off with pay - which are only 3 sick days a year as it is. I've heard that they do not help in placing you should your contract be terminated. I've had at least 4 handlers in 5 years and they barely know my name or can answer any question I've asked, which really isn't many, probably less than 10.

    Advice to Management

Like any other successful company, value your employees and the people who are putting money in your pocket. Extend a thank you now and again. A cost of living raise shouldn't be out of the question.

    Pros

Steady paychecks, reputable name, good stepping stone, solid experience, decent coworkers

    Cons

Steady stream of firings and staff departures make this a scary place to work. Benefits are expensive with no sick time. Company will continue to suffer loss of quality staff as there is no plan for retaining talent.

Get with the 21st century and offer more flex time. WFH is really frowned upon despite corporate lip service.

    Advice to Management

Ask your people how they feel about the challenges of working in new HQ. Solicit feedback from below.

Company needs a new BOARD after several unsuccessful exec reboots. Theyre sorely out of touch with reality.
