I worked at CDK Global full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people I worked with at CDK Global were some of the best and most talented and skilled I had ever worked with. They raised the bar for me to be my best.

    Cons

Company was spun off from ADP, and was formerly known as ADP Dealer Services. Since going on their own, they have had three major "workforce reductions" in the two years since the spinoff. They also are hiring more employees in India as they layoff employees in America, so they appear to be offshoring more development and support to cut costs.

    Pros

Opportunity for Growth if you can get the visibility. Some really great people work there. Industry leader.

    Cons

Benefits are not what they used to be. Training is sub-par. Layoffs and offshore hiring.

I worked at CDK Global full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Friendly Environment
    -Small but good recreational area

    Cons

There is no job security at CDK Global. Associate might be asked to leave the organisation at any point of time.

    Advice to Management

There is no transparency at management level. Decisions made by the management is not communicated properly to the team, instead employee is asked to leave the company telling him/her that expectations does not match company's requirement.
If company is in loss or company's plan is to shred the employees for the sake of optimization then same should be conveyed to employee instead of criticizing the associate.

I worked at CDK Global full-time

    Pros

Tremendous resources available to both associates and clients ( support, training, facilities...all first class). I loved the ability to "own" your territory and given the trust and responsibility to do so. With a sustained track record of success, new doors and opportunities can be available.

    Cons

If working in the field, territories can been very challenging geographically, in my case as a Solution Consultant (for Finance and Insurance) I had to cover 9 states which after a few years can be very challenging. All the travel time added up in any given year can be draining at times.

    Advice to Management

I would urge the Management Team to consider few account reps per location. In many cases, there are just to many "sales associates" per account. On a large account, there could be 10 reps (inside, field, consulting, digital, ..........) it can very challenging to form a strong and meaningful relationship with your client as to compete for "shelf space" with all your own lads.....

I have been working at CDK Global full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Good opportunities for travel
    Potential for career advancement
Good for graduates starting first job

    Cons

Treating people as 'costs' that must be minimized at every opportunity irrespective of the longer-term impact on customers, morale or the well being of people concerned
HR processes leave little room for managing people as individuals

    Advice to Management

Stop the gimmicks and latest trendy' management speak' and focus on delivering what customers really want and genuinely appreciate employees because we do actually care.

    Pros

Good hours, modern facility, ok benefits

    Cons

Senior leadership way out of touch with frontline employees, moral is in the gutter, high percentage layoffs of tenured associates, moving jobs offshore, only concern is shareholder profits.

Actually learn how to lead people not a spreadsheet.
