    Smart people and great career path,. Opportunities to start in one department and grow.

    Cons

    You will have to wait your turn in some cases. But this is the nature of working for and established public company vs a emerging private company.

    Keep leading by example!

    Pros

    Competitive compensation unless you start straight from college. Comp plan though confusing is very rewarding to over performance. The actual work with customers is invigorating and is legitamitley enjoyable.

    Cons

    Petty, back stabbing political culture that is wreckless and counter productive. Countless people are 'managed out' yet become top producers at other companies. Lack of development - you will not be developed here as management lacks the bandwidth to address development issues and corporate resources are out of touch to actually make a difference.

    Clique oriented political culture dominated by 20 somethings fresh out of school. Those 20 somethings are managed by pious 40 somethings that have never worked anywhere except CEB.

    SF office happens to be the exception to the rule as that office has the best management talent in the company across the board.

    Executive Management is mostly out of touch and lacks leadership strengths that inspire. New Gartner acquisition lends itself to help in this aspect.

    Advice to Management

    To executive management: Quit. Your ineptitude is illustrated in the lack of direction with failed integrations of aquisitions and exodus of talent. San Francisco is home to some of the most capable middle management talent in corporate America. Lean on them to salvage the new company that is now Gartner.

    Metrics management is not leadership.

    I have been working at CEB full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good people, nice bonus. Location is great just overlooking the river. Moving to new building in 2018.

    Cons

    Merging with Gartner, a little unsteady at the moment. Was released due to budget cuts. They dont give people much notice if let go.

    Advice to Management

    Help people understand when they will be release sooner if possible. Many people were blindsided over the years, including me.

    Interesting work. Progressive company. Smart people.

    Cons

    Not a software company, but a sales company. Terrible IT management.

    Advice to Management

    Start over. Get some people interested in building quality software instead of cheapest.

    Pros

    Very strong execution in terms of collecting information and generating insights. Broad Network with opportunity to develop soft skills. Execute their business model really well.

    Cons

    The depth insight and thus learning can be limited.

    Not much.

    Pros

    Very nice people
    Great professional culture
    Good time off and management encourages you take it
    Decent salary for the workload, especially for the Bay Area.

    Cons

    CEB is about best practice research and they use almost none of those best practices within their own organization so far as I can tell.

    Advice to Management

    Mandate that CEB adopt the best practices that you share with your clients. You don't even train your sales employees with your own Challenger training sessions you sell.

    Some of the smartest people I have ever met. Working with CEB-ers is like an on-going graduate degree. Intellectually curious people who want to solve problems.

    Cons

    Long hours, lots of travel.

    Pros

    Company has a great reputation. Excellent ongoing training. Feedback and coaching for development is constant.

    Cons

    Your opportunities, pay and benefits will vary based on where you are placed. Employees are constantly pushed to do unreasonable amounts of work and met with very little flexibility in return. There was absolutely no diversity in any way. Much of the company is very young and professionalism suffered as a result.

    Advice to Management

    Remember that your employees are also human beings. Don't sacrifice long term success for short term panics.

    Pros

    Colleagues that are extremely intelligent and being supported with data and facts.

    Cons

    If you're in need of poor leadership, lies from executives and lack of guidance and direction, this is the place for you. They will take take take and as soon as you run into hurdles, they will fire you for illegitimate reasons. This place should be shut down simply for the fact that no one in charge knows what they're doing. You will be lied to and cheated out of money as well.

    Resign, you're pathetic.
