    Pros

Working overtime was the best thing.

    Cons

Once you get hurt on the job they instantly fire you.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to investigate properly and not fire your employee because they get injured doing their job for the company. Its sad when a good emplyoee is terminated for an accident with throughly investigation.

    Pros

I think if you are a new graduate and are willing to live where ever, the opportunities at Cemex are endless. You can move into different areas if you are interested and willing to relocate. Also if you want to experience other countries, this would be available.

    Cons

    1) When senior management wants something "now", they don't care if it means a lot of overtime or time away from families. You can be compensated monitarily, but you will be worked hard for it.
    2) Not a lot of communication from management down.
    3) Work/Life balance is not as depicted on website.

    Advice to Management

Communicate more with lower levels and encourage/insist middle management communicates downward. If your website says you believe in work/life balance, then walk the talk.

I have been working at CEMEX full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Nice atmosphere
Pays OK, but you have to live around the offices, otherwise not competitive if you are in Swiss bigger cities
    Diversity

    Cons

Turnover is enormous (of course not disclosed by Management)
    Expect NO career progression.
Cemex management style is based on the "hero" manager model. This worked with skilled managers 30 years ago..
However local management in Switzerland is totally lost, (no strategy strategy or even any plan). They are the managerial laggards within Cemex.
As usual, the pressure goes down to lower positions who are paying for the lack of competence of their leaders.

    Advice to Management

Full of great employees, the problem is with management, so no advice here.

I have been working at CEMEX full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible, in case you work in the office, you can more or less manage your free time (depending on your supervisor of course). This is not true for the laboratory.
    Company financed language courses.

    Cons

    Low salary.
Hierarchy and the "boss image" is very strong.
    Not registered nor paid overtime.
Chaotic, a lot of money wasted on projects which have no time management, or have very low outcome.
Managers rarely give any feedback, if they do, they are not constructive.

    Pros

    Friendly work colleagues
Companies will recognise you in the industry if you move on from cemex

    Cons

    Too many managers
    Long working hours
Rarely do work within job description (Sales role but turns out to be a customer service role)
For the size of company there are very little perks
    Lower level staff not respected
    Very little progression
    High staff turnover
Too much change in a short space of time

    Advice to Management

Train your staff better and nurture the talent you already have
