I have been working at CERN full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good working environment, challening work with an international elite. Many opportunities in growing and learning new abilities. Internationally good reputation.

    Cons

Limited possibilities to stay for a longer time. Limited duration contracts with many extensions. Depending on the group budgets are tight and private laptops have to be used.

    Advice to Management

Do not think on a short term but care about the future of your employees. The working conditions are very good and it is fun to work here.

I worked at CERN full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

International work environment Interesting professional context, multidisciplinary activities Bright brains, but not only! Great colleagues include technicians, engineers, admin staff, librarians, firefighters, and a lot of young fellows and students. Relaxed atmosphere, feels like academia

    Cons

Contract policy isn't always supportive of indefinite hires (limited duration contracts are still better than in most international organisations though)

    Advice to Management

    Open-mindness and transparent communication

    I worked at CERN

    Pros

Good opportunities, good salary, continuous support for technical advancement and enhancing skills and competencies. Respectful of family life. Multicultural experience.

    Cons

The contract policies and the possibilities for a conversion between limited duration and indefinite contracts is not really reasonable. It leads to loosing many bright employees...

    Advice to Management

As I have said the contract policies and the possibilities for a conversion between limited duration and indefinite contracts is not really reasonable. It leads to loosing many bright employees...
