I worked at CF Industries for more than a year

    Pros

Decent people, strong company community Genuine, company-wide focus on safety culture, quality of product Did real, productive work as an intern Work was interesting Competitive salary for an intern position Flexible hours - I worked 4 10s, with Fridays off, and the company is open to nonstandard work weeks

    Cons

As an intern, appropriate work was limited - I had a lot of downtime between working on various projects and waiting for people Small town location Emphasis on company community creates focus on social 'fit' of employees

    Advice to Management

I was genuinely impressed with the pervasiveness and consistency of the positive company culture. I felt much safer at CF than I expected to feel working at a chemical plant, and the culture was definitely part of that. Keep it up!

      Pros

CF Industries offers a unique family type atmosphere that makes for a great place to work. Everyone is friendly and willing to help with any and everything.

      Cons

They sometimes tend to overwork their employees instead of hiring more help.

I have been working at CF Industries for more than a year

      Pros

Great experience depending on who you work under. You get to meet your boss's boss regularly so it's nice to get your name out.

      Cons

Intern/Coop program is primarily run through HR. This means you run the chance of getting placed under a not-so-great engineer. As of now, your experience is a hit or miss.

      Advice to Management

Get your top engineers involved in this program. Not every engineer on your payroll is the caliber you want from new hires. Evaluate your engineers company-wide and pick the best to act as mentors. Do not give this task to HR, give it to trusted higher up engineers. You don't want average or less than average teaching your interns/co-ops. Figure out what you're doing with the internship program. If there are no...
