I worked at CGB Enterprises full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

    Have a good 401K plan

    Cons

Managers will be asked to RELOCATE an average of 3-5 times in a few years with about 2 WEEKS notice on the moves. Terrible communication from the beginning of each employees start, C-level management knows what they are doing, but hardly anyone below them does. No communication with employees on scheduling for weekends until Friday mid-day.

    Advice to Management

Either learn how to practice what you preach, or quit preaching it. Let managers stay at facilities long enough to build a relationship with their crew and be productive.

I worked at CGB Enterprises full-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

401k company match Strong financial performance company

      Cons

10 hour work days expected by management year round. Weekend responsiveness to text, calls and emails expected. Lean employee approach. Employees are expected to take on more with no monetary incentive due to tough times in the grain industry. Male “tough guy” fraternity culture. If you are not in the club, upward mobility is limited. Too small of a company for an abundance of career advancement opportunities. Most...

      Advice to Management

Sell the grain division to a suitable competitor and solely focus on crush/exports. Abandon “the best offices are those that go to war everyday” approach.

I have been working at CGB Enterprises full-time for more than 6 years

        Pros

If you plan to contribute a fair amount to their 401k plan it is very good. That’s about it.

        Cons

Bad on so many levels. They describe themselves as entreneurial and innovative. That could not be further from the true. It is a top down company with no independent thinking. Company is very cheap in how they treat there employees. Very corporate Janapese culture

        Advice to Management

People talk about not being like Cargill, ADM well you have become it

I worked at CGB Enterprises full-time for more than 6 years

        Pros

CGB has good benefits, outstanding 401k match, and great facilities.

        Cons

Below average base pay and commission, poor communication in insurance division, lack of leadership, and a lot of employee turnover.

        Advice to Management

Evaluate the management and employee satisfaction in the insurance and marketing divisions. Seems to be a lot of non-communication, below average pay, and lack of good overall structure.
