Cons

Highly competitive, little to no job security

Pros
Imaging department works very hard and provides much profit for the company. The current management strategies of imaging department can produce very high margin for the company
Cons
However marine department's performance keeps going down in the downturn since 2014. Without significant improvement on marine performance, CGG may have some hard time to pay their debt. Management made some worst decision in the company history in 2014.
Advice to Management
Sustainable business strategies are not present in the company. Significant experiences employees are lost in the downturn for many reasons.

Pros
Some people are nice, I guess you can learn something

Pros
None if you are American. If you are a foreigner who is not Chinese or Indian, you can get green card fairly quickly.
Cons
- This is a mini North Korea in the middle of Chinatown; A culture of dictatorship persists where employees are subject to bondage labor after being held hostage while their green card is in process.
- low pay and excessive work load
- Vindictive management
- A culture of narcissism exists in the imaging department
- Low camaraderie
- Incompetent management who reached their positions by sucking up to their masters. They are not suitable for running a business.
- Company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and still has a lot of debt. Possible chapter 7 looms in the next couple of years.
- Low job stability. Lots of terminations in the last 3 years.
- The imaging department is swarmed with Chinese employees; most of whom barely speak a line of coherent English. So most employees speak in Chinese at the work place.
- Toxic work environment with lot of Chinese nepotism
- American wage deflation by hiring foreigners on low wages.
Advice to Management
- Pay employees better, improve work hours and remove incompetent managers (though it is hard to remove oneself from work)
