    Pros

A very laid-back, fun place to work (at least in my group). Hours are lenient as long as you're being productive and accomplishing things on track. Everybody's really willing to be helpful and get you what you need.

    Cons

Can't really think of any off the top of my head. Many, many status meetings.

    Advice to Management

    Nothing.

    Pros

Great company, still led by the founder, focus on operational fundamentals and client satisfaction. Detailed frameworks are in place to support how we sell, how we deliver, and how we ensure that our clients are satisfied. I enjoy the work that I am doing, and the entrepreneurial atmosphere - I can communicate freely with fellow members across the company in a way that isn't inhibited by a strict "chain of command" philosophy; we are all focused on our goal of doubling the size of the company in the next 3 years, and doing so in a way that focuses on the client, not on us.

    Cons

Dispersed work force, lack of an office culture.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing.

    Pros

    Great people.

The management understands you have a personal life and is willing to work with you to find the best schedule for you. It's project-based work, so busy times can be very busy, but downtimes are a great opportunity to recharge and retool using many of CGI's knowledge resources.

The management also is willing to work to retain good people. I earned an out-of-cycle pay raise by producing good results and some luck. CGI was re-evaluating salaries and trying to stay competitive in the market.

    Cons

Depending on your project, you may be working with the same client for a long time. My job almost seemed like I was part of an outsourcing team.

    Advice to Management

Large engagements and clients are bread-and-butter, but do not become complacent with just the cash cows. Try to develop more business opportunities.

    Pros

The hours are flexible which is great!

    Cons

The Shared Services organization within Corporate is the most frustrating group I've ever worked with.

    Advice to Management

Pay higher salaries for better qualified people to work in Shared Services. In the interview process, see if they can put together a 500 piece puzzle, if they cannot, they are not qualified. People with problem solving skills are greatly needed.

    Pros

Progressive company with emphasis on employees as members, 80%+ are involved in the share purchase plan.

    Cons

At times, the manager lacks a vision for workforce development.

    Advice to Management

Encourage more creativity and offer regular time for team meetings to brainstorm and allow some ideas an opportunity to takeoff and see how they do in the real world.
