    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at CGI full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They appear to have a good corporate structure. They appear to care. They do have great incentives. They are big with recognition.

    Cons

The individual projects make their own guidelines and sometimes it's not ethical. Managers are abusive and bring their own intermediate managers to the table. If you have a personal tragidy, they are uncaring.

    Advice to Management

Closely look at your managers...they are narcissistic.

I worked at CGI full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Depending on your project and project site- it can be relatively easy-going.

    Cons

Your experience really depends on your relationship with your immediate supervisor. Even if you have a good relationship with your immediate though, the organization still lacks leadership from all sides. Management doesn't care how the work gets done or the quality of the work, as long as it says 'completed'.

    Advice to Management

Work on putting the right people in the right place. Putting a 'senior' title on someone doesn't necessarily make a difference unless they're doing things to help the projects they're on. Promote the right people and have more direction and insight for the consultants who do the grunt work.

I have been working at CGI full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Not many....but will list below:
1.) Flexible with the ability to work remote
2.) Good company to kick start your career, but get out after 2-3 years
    3.) SPP

    Cons

Oh so many to list, but here goes:
1.) Would rather hire someone for less pay and have them work over 40 without decent pay raises.
2.) Poor management. They do not listen to your opinion. Clear example of the current generation gap going on right now. The company doesn't recognize growing trends in your everyday working American citizen. Their competitors like Workday (now Accenture), Deloitte and PWC will eventually push the Canadian company out.
3.) No career development. It's like a free for all and will place you in just about any billable position regardless of skill just because it's business and all they care about is the bottom line. Don't worry, this will eventually backfire on them.
4.) No training. Scrum training? Project Management certificates? They just don't do any of this for some reason. Big fail here.
5.) Does not follow laws like OSHA. For example, I had to work on a client site for several weekends without the air conditioning on in the building. One person on my team fainted due to the heat. Very unsafe working condition.
6.) Additionally, they expect you to make up for the time you spent flying to and from the client site and will not allow you to record those hours as worked. If i recall, this is a violation as stated on the U.S Department of Labor website. Thanks.
7.) No time for management to mentor their employee's.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your members regardless of their title.

I have been working at CGI full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexibility and ability to work from home/virtually

    Cons

No room for growth or control over your career, not easy to change between roles/jobs, high deductible insurance, low 401k match compared to similar companies, Zero communication on happenings within company or able to communicate with management, below average compensation and benefits compared to similar companies, not always challenging enough, this location you are pushed into certain jobs with no say

    Advice to Management

There needs to be a compensation scale put into place instead of the randomness that it is currently. There needs to be a system put into place so that people can easily move between jobs within CGI. Employees do not know anything happening or opportunities within company outside of their own group. Listen to your employees.
