I have been working at CGI full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great to work from home and most management is awesome

    Cons

Not enough internal training, which limits opportunity for growth

    Advice to Management

Provide ongoing training to employees on a regular basis. Especially for items such as CACS. Without all employees being trained we become non-marketable.

I have been working at CGI full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexibility and ability to work from home/virtually

    Cons

No room for growth or control over your career, not easy to change between roles/jobs, high deductible insurance, low 401k match compared to similar companies, Zero communication on happenings within company or able to communicate with management, below average compensation and benefits compared to similar companies, not always challenging enough, this location you are pushed into certain jobs with no say

    Advice to Management

There needs to be a compensation scale put into place instead of the randomness that it is currently. There needs to be a system put into place so that people can easily move between jobs within CGI. Employees do not know anything happening or opportunities within company outside of their own group. Listen to your employees.

I have been working at CGI full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Work life balance and employee caring company. Employee benefits are good if you are enrolled for share purchase plan. Because of diversity of work culture make the company wonderful!!

    Cons

Health insurance plan is certainly not up to mark of bigger organization. It is in fact expensive and you will have to pay lot from your pocket.

    Advice to Management

    None

I have been working at CGI full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Their benefits if you can actually get them setup correctly aren't the worst.

They have an employee stock purchase plan where 3-3.5% of your salary is matched depending on your job grade as well as a deposit into your HSA.

Assignments depending on your network can be a good fit for your career interests and help you grow in more areas.

Work life balance depends on where you're staffed but overall among my colleagues is good unless you're slapped with an unsustainable commute.

    Cons

The one pro I can think of comes with a hefty con:

Their HR department will do everything in their power to not allow your benefits to be setup correctly. Some people wait months for these to kick in and eventually give up trying to deal with them.

Aside from internal issues like HR they also have outdated systems that logging into works less than a quarter of the time. For a contender in technology consulting .... color me confused.

Salary structures are lower than average compared to other large consulting companies (Slalom, Deloitte, Accenture, PWC) and these other companies offer more generous benefits packages as well.

    Advice to Management

Get with the times, join the 21st century and upgrade your company from inside out both technologically and mentally.
