I worked at CGI as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Health benefits were decent if you don't have a family. Generous sick leave policy.

    Cons

New health insurance deductibles for families are much too high. Promises to "do right" by employees facing lay-offs are empty. Multiple websites in multiple languages make annual training unnecessarily difficult.

    Advice to Management

Take care of quality employees to foster loyalty. Streamline company website. Consider a US based help line for US based employees.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at CGI full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Didn't fire everyone immediately but managed to do i=so within a year

    Cons

Took over contract and lowered salaries by 25%. Then managed to not get our contract renewed (which should've been a sure thing). Management didn't care about employees and weren't able to place a single person into a new position.

    Advice to Management

Learn to be managers and actually give a damn about what you do and what the employees do. Have some pride

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at CGI full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    I have a job, so, there's that.

    Cons

For an IT company, it is amazing how everything this company does online fails to work or is simply of poor quality. CGI also has no ability to estimate or utilize their own human capital. They don't know the KSAs of their employees and only ask about their qualifications in order to bid on contracts--then seem to lose the information until the next contract comes around for bidding.

    Advice to Management

Stop acquiring companies that you don't know anything about other than their profitability. They quickly go from assets to liabilities under your "leadership."
