    Pros

    Laid Back
Non-managerial people are good to work with

    Cons

Management does not respect you and take you for granted
    Growth opportunities not there
Favoritism - Management promotes people they like a lot especially in Advantage Group (QA to be specific, other groups as well)

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees rather than saving few dollars and in turn losing people.

    Pros

Co-workers stick together to complete assignments when put in terrible positions by management.

    Cons

CGI doesn't not invest or care about it's resources. No time is allocated for training or self improvement. Leadership constantly signs contracts that ties their employees hands and heroic work need to be performed to complete assignments. Employees are not rewarded for personal sacrifices.

    Advice to Management

Your resources are your most important assets start acting like you care about them.

    Pros

Great benefits, could be a good stepping stone to go work elsewhere for a better company.

    Cons

Products suck. Compensation stinks. Cryptic bonus structure - don't try to understand it, you're not going to get anything anyway. Don't shine too brightly, or dim bulb management will be out for your head.

    Advice to Management

    Quit.

    Pros

Looks good on a resume to be a contractor at the Library of Congress.
    Good healthcare benefits from CGI
    Good exposure to other languages

    Cons

Constantly belittled and criticized for not knowing information you were never given.
    Poor training.
    Belligerent manager.
    Underpaid.
    Micro mis-managed
Pushed to produce statistics, but not quality.

    Advice to Management

Fire the Project manager and assistant project manager. All they care about it statistics, not the quality of the work or respect for employees.

    Pros

There was a great learning experience and I appreciate the opportunity. But at the end of the day living in the DC metro area is very expensive. The ppl there are really nice and the managers are awesome!

    Cons

There are more cons than pros. For one it seems like they are only interested in them keeping money in their pocket. The 401K matching is horrible and the benefits package sucks. I thnk I had to pay 200 dollars to go to the ER. Even the guy at the ER was like WOW, this is really expensive I never see this. The employees come LAST!! Its all about their profit. No holiday parties, no company parties at all. I understand that there are alot of ppl from different cultures but they can at least put up a freaking Christmas tree. They totally took my holiday spirit away. Its all about working. The PAY IS HORRIBLE!! Opportunity for growth is little to none. Im so glad my experience here is over!!!

    Advice to Management

Well I know its a waste of my time but pay attention to the employees needs. They are not happy and u should want happy employees so they can make high profits right?? It could be a wonderful place to work if you ppl would show them that ur thankful from time to time. Stop being so greedy for every single dollar and invest in your employees. The way ur doing things is pathetic.

    Pros

Decenct pay and benefits, that would be all. Human Resouces is for the company and not the employees.

    Cons

Treatment of employees needs to be improved, as well as training and opportunities for advancement.

    Advice to Management

Have regular town hall meetings to gather employee feedback on the company and its practices.

I have been working at CGI full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Easy to work from home
    Good dental insurance
Free soda on the 4th floor

    Cons

Career growth is non-existent; forget about working your way up; if you're not from the outside, you'll spend 5 years without getting a promotion
No bonuses; just profit-sharing which management takes the vast majority of and leaves nothing but scraps for the little people
Company has consistently gotten cheaper; first benefits, now people don't even have cubes
Management seeks to isolate itself from the peons
Long hours with no overtime; comp time is capped and flex time can't be used realistically
    Raises are pathetic
Hiring standards have gotten worse; they'll hire anyone

    Advice to Management

Stop isolating yourself from your employees and take action; the longer you do nothing, the harder it'll be fix things once they've finally broken

I have been working at CGI full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

-great if you want to be a mindless drone
-awesome salary if you want to live in a cardboard box
    -great environment for doing nothing
-internal "cult-like" promotion of the company ("one of us")

    Cons

    -ignorant management
    -hands-off work force and administration
-insult to employees with drive for innovation and progressive work styles
    -no management fast track

    Advice to Management

Find something for your employees to do rather than let them sit and do nothing for weeks on end. Companies like this will be the end of IT innovation and progress in the public sector.

I worked at CGI full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nice company for start ups those are from college directly.

    Cons

If your manager wants to replace you due to discrimination , then they will ask you for resignation. If you don't, then they will send you to special program and they will make sure you will fail it, eventually they will terminate you in 30 days. So when you asked to resign, then just resign. Do not fight with any one.
You should be ready any time to get another job. They advertise that they do not have any lay-offs in order to get good share price. But they will terminate you silently with out any severance. You should have more time, money and other resources to go to a law suit.
Please do not join if you have experience of 5+ years. and be ready for all those things said above.

    Advice to Management

Please investigate the thoroughly when some one sent to special program. It may be due to racism discrimination and do justice to the particular employee.

I have been working at CGI full-time

    Pros

Nothing much to say here. Infighting, poor management, favortism and nepotism, I could go on and on and on..

    Cons

Worst place I have ever worked in an almost 40 year working career. Cultural misalignment between US and French Canadian entities-- socialistic philosophies DO NOT work in the US. VERY poor leadership- the fish sticks from the head down. Extremely bad decision to buy a large, failing European company. Can't wait to leave!!

    Advice to Management

I am beyond words. They would not listen anyway.
